Hi manu,

Returning is currently bugged as of the latest build. What often happens is that the player won't move and he'll instead do the stretching/arm's length anim, even though it is 100% possible to run and return the serve. Sometimes, it even does it in the wrong way. Here are some dmo's showcasing a few examples.

Interesting...I'm playing Masters 5 with my 16 year old and dominating matches (6-0, 6-2). In 2013 I couldn't play higher than pro 5 with much stronger players. It appears CPU is much easier to play against in TE4. I may have to move to incredible.

JiJo,
it should be fixed in yesterday's update.

You need to fix the hitting position of the players. Its very stiff and the legs of the player on forehand and backhand are parallel to the ground and this is wrong. One foot must be in front to have balance.

I don't really like the added side-spin on running shots. I feel it messes up the gameplay too much and too arcade-y.

Brad1981,
I'll wait to get more feedback ; maybe I'll lower a bit the effect.

I'm on the fence about it... On one hand, I like that it is possible to hit a nice banana-shot on the run like Nadal. It feels really good to finish a point like this. On the other hand, I feel like it happens too frequent, especially for the AI (it doesn't always seem like they are clearly on the run and out of nowhere they hit a pretty bendy shot... even regularly on return of serves). It throws off my gameplay, but maybe that is, because I'm not used to it.

Maybe it could be possible to control this type of shot? Adding side spin to a short cross-court shot would be nice without the necessity of running.

I'm curious how others see it.

I think it would be nice to have a stat for side-spin in running shots, as some player are better for that shot than others. Visually I love the effect, gameplay wise I can get used to that, but if it's different for each player it will increase the difficulty, which I'd love.

I have one other comment about the new stadium in particular, but it applies to all. I sometimes like to lower the height a bit, and even move the angle to the left/right. I found the fence of the new camera distracting as it doesn't let me see the whole court, and inconsistent as it adds like a circle around the player that wipes the fence. This, in a lesser degree happens for the other stadiums, where the line judges or some parts of the stadiums block the view. I think the solution would be not to render the 'back' of the stadium or something like that, I don't know however the impact of this or if it's possible.

If anything, I think the side-spin should only be added to the acceleration shot, as a normal shot does not have the torque in real life to do it. But personally it would be better to have it the way before. It's happening on every shot that I move for, even if my player moves just a little bit. When I hit it, it always seems to curve.

Overall, I like the new changes in the recent update. It would be good if the side spin could be reduced a little or maybe we have a small amount of control on it using some extra modifier button.

Are there differences between forehand and backhand regarding the sidespin? If not, maybe there should be?
