You may have linked it to the wrong value. It lowers to the current max Energy (which can go up again), not the max possible Energy:

TimovieMan,
aaaargh, I did 1 copy/paste too many, and it indeed ended with Energy instead of MaxEnergy...
It'll be fixed in the next update, thanks to your report !

Just downloaded the demo and it feels good to play, although some touches are still needed (and i'm sure will be addressed). The defensive shots (when you're on the run) feel more realistic, but whe the ball is really far, almost unreachable, i still feel there needs to be a way to just play a very high ball (like we see on real matches) to try to get back to the center of the court. That ball obviously would have to be an easy put away ball for the opponent. But the almost unreachable balls end up in the net all the time (like on TE2013), even if i don't press anything (safe shot).

victorbicudo2,
the balls that are really far are hit very off-centered ; in real-life, it's not possible to put them back in most of the time.
If you see the ball is centered in the racket, normally you should still have a decent chance to put it back in play, especially with the safe strike. Isn't it the case ? :fear:

Game settings before online/offline matches
In TE2013 I find it uncomfortable to select game settings before matches, especially for online matches. You always have to go back to Main Menu to select the court and set.
In my opinion this option should be accessable on the host game screen, too. Makes it much more easier to check if settings are correct. It just saves a step.

Yes, but they can go to lots of places other than landing on the net every time. I'm just saying there could be an attempt to use a very defensive lob without actually using the defensive lob command. But it'd be a shorter ball, like a ball that bounces in the service box for an easy overhead or swing volley

Well, that was anticlimactic:

Injury type: Exhaustion
Severity: Medium

Pretty much the moment his Short Term Form hit zero.

Is that automatic? Short Term Form 0 = exhaustion injury?

Alright, an extra tactic in my arsenal against low-stamina defenders...

The game play is really coming together and is nice now, but a few comments :-)

I can play an entire match serving out of the court and hitting many aces/winners, so it doesn't appear like the CPU is adjusting to the serve? In a real game, you would counter this by altering your position.

When hitting a winner of a serve that can't be returned, almost all of the time the CPU "scoops" the return high into the stands. More variation would be nice as it becomes "boring" seeing the same type of return again and again. This would also be improved if the CPU adjusted to the serve, I guess.

As mentioned in topic15-33405.php. I'm yet to see the CPU miss a drop shot, i.e. hitting it short into the net, after having played hundreds of matches.

Are you releasing left/right before hitting the ball? More info here https://www.managames.com/tennis/doc/Te ... meCreation

MartyParty,
1) if the CPU was physically moving to the outside of the court, it'd be visible and very easy to hit an ace down the line.
I may add an anticipation bonus though, if you serve too much on the same side (ie: slightly better response time)

2) I'll try to randomize the speed when hitting the ball with the tip of the racket, so at least it'll have a bit of visual variation

3) I'm a bit surprised by the 100% success rate of the drop shot, but a 99% would make sense anyway so I'll check if the error rate couldn't be slightly higher

Tincho18,
if you push up at the last instant, your input won't be registered and thus the service won't get sliced. Could it be what it's happening ?
