How do I stop player attributes worseining with age? I've noticed Navratilova's and Evert attributes go down each year and I don't want that to happen as these two, especially Navratilova continued to be competitive at the top level of the game well into their 30s. I treid to edit these settings in the Tennis.ini file, but it didn't help:

[WT_OldAge]
MaxPhysicalDrop = 0.40
RiskInjuryAdd = 0.30
TrainTechnicDrop= 0.50
SlowMentalDrop = 0.10

Another question, why is Evert having terrible Grand Slam results in my simulations? I'm now playing a season with Graf as my player, I reached year 1988 and Evert has not won a single slam title. In my previous simulation where my player was also Graf, I simulated from 1983-1999 and if my memory serves me well, Evert only won 1 Grand Slam title. I have her RankPerYear set as #1 for the first couple of years and all of her mental skills like Concentration, Constancy and Cold Blood are set to 100 in the .ini file.

JaNeZoKu,
1) You can give them the Forever Young talent (ie: add "Elderly 100" in their Talent list)
But they lose only physical skills ; they'll compensate by getting better technical skills.

2) Maybe her Cold Blood is a bit low ; it would be better at 85%.

I will try that, thank you!

I set her Cold Blood to 100, so it cannot be low. Or do you think lowering it from 100 to 85 would actually help?

Btw, numerous unknown/low-ranked players have high values in Concentration, Constancy and Cold Blood so they end up causing upsets in tournaments. I've been editing those along the way, as I stumble on them.

1) Cold Blood at 100 should be ok

2) In what years ? If in real year, these players should have low-ranking targets and thus very low skills. Could you give a couple of examples so I'll check these players ?

The low ranked/unknown players I was referring to were women players in the 80s. I don't remember which ones as I edited them whenever I saw them winning high-level tournaments or when they were my next opponents so I saw their attributes in their character sheets. Now that I have done a lot of editing, upsets are happening much less often. I am currently simulating a new World Tour, Seasons mode, with Steffi Graf from 1983 to 1999 and the results have been fantastic so far!

I did lots of editing and testing/simulating matches in Training Club with players from the World Tour. As expected, Concentration, ColdBlood and Constancy seem very important for CPU vs CPU simulated matches in World Tour and the attribute 'Focus' seems super effective for balancing player simulated matches. I edited a whole bunch of players on the women's tour from 1983-1999 and the results so far have been great! I'm going to have to tone down Chris Evert a bit as she is now a bit too strong in my game. xD

EDIT: One problem I'm still having in my simulations is when players experience Form of the Day Boost, at the moment the boost is too extreme so my player (S. Graf) ends up beaten fairly easily, even to players ranked around no. 20 in the world. The average form of the day is usually 87-89%, but when a boost happens it goes up to 102-103%. I would like to lower that boost to around 92-93% but I'm struggling to discover how. I messed around with the following lines in Tennis.ini:

[WT_ScoreSimu]
StressMinDiff = 1000
StressLowering = 0.50 // difference *= StressLowering
SurfaceLowering = 0.2
ConcentrationPow= -0.05
InconstancyMul = 0.10
InconstancyAdd = 0.10

I figure the boost is related to the last two lines. If I want the positive boost to go up from 87-89% to around 92-93% (instead of 102-103%), what exactly should I change?

Okay, so here are the results so far of my 1983-1999 Seasons Mode simulation with Steffi Graf (last season simulated 1990). On the left side, I wrote down grand slam winners and on the right side are my player's (S. Graf) grand slam results per year, with year-end ranking on the far right. The grand slam winners are great, most slams won by Navratilova and Evert, except for a few small surprises (nothing shocking), and in the last two years Sanchez Vicario and Seles started winning slams. This is all great as that's how I set up the Players.ini file.

simulation.png
simulation.png (26.07 KiB) Viewed 430 times

However, there is one big problem! My player, Steffi Graf, has not won any grand slam tournaments from 1983-1990. I realised as I was simulating that the main reason for this problem was that 90% of my losses were to Evert and Navratilova. My record against Evert is 1 win and 18 losses and against Navratilova 3 wins and 22 losses!!! Then when Seles and Sanchez Vicario showed up, my H2H against Seles is 1 win 4 losses (the only win coming on a bonus Form of the Day occasion) and against Sanchez Vicario 5 wins and 6 losses. So, I'm constantly losing to big players (Evert, Navratilova, Seles) that I edited and tested in the Training club simulations to be 50-50 win/loss ratio versus Graf. So I started searching for reasons why this is happening if everything was fine in Training club simulations and I found out that my player's (Graf) skills in years 1987-1990 (projected to be no.1 at the end of the year in the .ini file) were smaller than her skills in the World Tour main menu where you pick your player, while CPU controlled players had their skills the same as in the World Tour main menu when they reached their highest ranking. That's why in my Seasons mode simulations Graf was constantly losing to Evert and Navratilova, because she wasn't as good as she was supposed to be.

Here are Graf's skills in the World Tour main menu and this is the Steffi Graf I saved to the Training club and tested in simulated matches against all other high-ranked players which I also saved from the World Tour main menu to the Training club.

Graf_menu.jpg

And here are Graf's skills from 1989 in the Seasons mode game I am currently simulating (unable to win Slams and losing to Evert/Navratilova/Seles most of the time). For 1989, I set Graf's ranking to #1 in the .ini file, and we can see her skills are lower than in the image above and that is why (I suppose) she is unable to beat big players and win Slams.

Graf_simulation_1989_skills.jpg

Then I did some additional testing. I thought maybe she didn't have max skills because she was still young in 1989 (20 years). So I started a new Season in the year 1991 and her skills were again different from her skills in the main menu of the World Tour (image below). Here, the crazy thing is that her Return, Passing, Reflexes and Strength skills were changed as well?

Graf_1991no1.jpg
Graf_1991no1.jpg (98.09 KiB) Viewed 430 times

So I did the same test with Seles and same thing happens. So the problem is that when my player reaches her/his best ranking, their skills do not match the skills in the World Tour menu and that is why I am getting different results for Graf against other players in the Seasons mode versus the results I was getting when balancing players and simulating matches in Training club. Because of this it is hard to balance the game (my player), hence why Graf hasn't won any slams in my simulations.

Is there anything I can do to guarantee that once my player reaches her best ranking her skills will be exactly the same as in the World tour main menu? I stopped simulating seasons for now as I realized I have this problem with my player skills.

P.s. I don't want to sound negative, this is actually super exciting! I was having a blast (just look at those grand slam winners!), until I realized my player didn't turn out the way it was supposed to. ':D

JaNeZoKu,
1) A normal form of the day is 100%. 87-90% is actually pretty bad. With a good Concentration (ie: >= 90%), it should get seldomly under 98%.

2) About the skills, I found out 2 issues :
- the hidden skills are set to (FH Consistency + BH Consistency) / 2 ; this is normal in the Career Mode, but in the Seasons Mode, it shouldn't be the case. It'll be fixed in the next update
- when starting a new game, the player was ending with his skills set to his potentials instead of the skills for the selected year ; I also just fixed it for the next update, thanks to your report..! :yes:

3) Could you send me a Bug Report ? (HowTo => topic5-31732.php )
Like this, I'll get your Player base and I could check what players are changed from the original base, so I could fix them as well. :)

4) Your player is getting white, which means you don't have the latest version, you should update the game if possible.

I don't know why, but in my simulations it is 87-89% most of the time for my player and for PC players.

Sent it, but be warned, I edited a lot of players! Especially from the 80s and 90s. Some players had incorrect values in their height or had a single-handed backhand instead of double-handed. I also edited their outfits. I am currently editing players from the ''Williams era'', so hopefully once the next update hits I will have all the higher ranked players ready for a long 1983-2020 simulation! :applause:

I don't know how. When I start the game I am not getting the message that a new version is available and when I try to update from the Settings menu it tells me ''No new version was found on the website''.

Hi again. I am confused about the modding. I useed the TEM2 SDK structure to add a new court to TE4, but it isn't showing up on the training club.

Here is my structure

Mods>NewCourts>Courts>Court10>(court.ini and court.jpg)

I have loaded the mod in the Mods.ini

[Mod]
BasePath = Mods
Load = <NewCourts>

I also don't knw how to add the court to my World Tour. Can someone plase help ?

Ok I actually fixed that problem, but now I have another one with the Devmode camera.

I have a 2D court and I managed to get the camera right with Devmode. I went to Tennis.ini > [Camera] and copied those settings into the court's court.ini.
But when I start the game again and go back to the court, the camera is different from the one I had previously set up. Am I doing something wrong ?

JaNeZoKu,
1) oops, sorry, I got your Bug Report but I forgot to tell you that you had to be in the World Tour menu for your base to be sent. Could you send it again ?
And if you don't mind, maybe I could use your edits in the official version ? :)

2) Hum, that's strange the update checking doesn't work. Just use the download link in your License Key email then.

leo26,
you have to copy the correct Camera settings from Settings -> Profile -> Show Engine Log (on the bottom left).

Thanks Manu, that worked.

Also, can you tell me how can I remove the 2d court camera lines ? I want to play with the lines that come in the 2D image.

I set LinesColor = 0

in the court.ini but they still appear

Ay, yay, yay... lol

As far as sharing my edits with you, no problem, I'd be happy to share it. :)

However... At the moment I can't get to them. For the past hour or so I've been unistalling/re-installing the game, trying to figure out what's going on with the new update. So... When I uninstall everything and install the latest version, the game works. However, as soon as I add any of the files I edited in the previous version, the game breaks down. I get this screen in the World Tour menu when trying to start a new game:

TE4_Screenshot001.jpg

When this happens, even if I delete my files from the Mods folder, the same thing keeps happening. The same thing also happens when I replace the Tennis.ini file with the one I edited and which worked in my previous version of the game. If it helps, before updating, my version of the game was the one from November if memory serves me well. Basically, as soon as I add any of the files I edited before installing the latest version, the game stops working.

The files I edited are:
Players.WTA.Ini
Tour.WTA.Ini
TourCategory.WTA.Ini
Tennis.ini

I don't care so much for the last three files as I didn't change that much there, but I edited more than 90 players (some were detailed edits, some were just corrections of mental attributes of unknown players)! :O
