Hi Manu, Are we getting only the "French Open side court" or are there plans to add one for each slam? On other news, glad for the upcoming new features!

Nice...will this apply to non-grand slams for modders?

Hey,

just wanted to say that you're doing an amazing job with developing the best tennis gameplay on the market as a single developer! Huge respect.

While checking the roadmap, I was wondering if you're also planning to improve the running animation. Imho, this is the only thing (maybe easier to understand UI in the menus) that might discourage a wider audience to dig into the game.

Cheers!

I'm going to focus on adding :
- material Mod support for the stadiums (this will allow changing the textures, their colors, and the surfaces)
- then add the possibility to load easily any player from the World Tour in the Training Club
- remove the pre-determined saving slots for the player in the Training Club, so you'll enter the name for each saved player, allowing unlimited slots
- and then add the long-requested single tournament mode

Really looking forward to it.
Keep up the great job Manu, TE4 has already become a masterpiece but it's going to get even better with all of these new features implemented.

The last entry was awesome! Keep it up and the game is looking amazing, really happy for my purchase. I'll buy the game for PS4 if you release it as well, I really like it.

Just wanted to ask about a few topics:
1) What does the image of that French Open means? Can we expect to have all those courts in the game? I'm guessing the side court can be modded to have them feel a bit different, thus having those many courts.
2) Really glad for all the stadiums and the bonus training court! Nice results!
3) What results can be expected from material Mod? Just want to have clear expectations from this, Would it be possible to have an entire 'new' stadium or it will look pretty much the same one but with different colours/surfaces?

Thanks!!

Burned & Fed1 & polakis ,
thanks ! :jap:

Fed1,
1) I think it wouldn't be much useful to have each court selectable ; so it'll be only one : maybe the 3rd one starting from the left (n°1 = current Side court). I'll check the view from each court to keep the most interesting one.

3) It's just about changing colors ( = textures), not shapes ( = 3D model).

I read your post on sales, maybe you should put a lot of effort into advertising... Your game is not referenced on the big sites (in France) such as jeuxvideo.com for example

Thanks.

ahhh... awesome :-) I didn't notice that. That makes a lot of sense.

It might be an idea to reach out to some of the up and coming tennis youtubers, such as https://www.youtube.com/c/tennisbrothers, https://www.youtube.com/c/IntuitiveTennis or https://www.youtube.com/c/MyTennisHQ. They are all very good players (or used to be) on an international level and doing motion capture for an indie game that is so passionate about recreating the actual tennis feeling in a video game might be really cool content for them in a video series (might also get you some publicity for the game).

nico86,
I think I'll do serious marketing ads only when the game is complete or nearly complete, because we have only one chance to make a good 1st impression... :blackeye: ("on n'a qu'une seule chance de faire une première bonne impression")

einmensch,
these players are far from France, but yes, I'm hoping to find some good players located in France to do the motion capture sessions. I guess it shouldn't be the most difficult. The hard part is to be sure all the pipeline from the capture to the game-ready animations is valid, because there are many steps, and a lot of them are costly (either in cash or time, or even both), and doing a mistake early on could lead to bad consequences forever... :fear:

Sad to hear about your sales expectation not being met. How about you open a Patreon account or some donation site? I have seen many indie game developers open such sites

Tennis brothers is from UK and just started to play tournaments all over Europe. So might be in your area eventually :) With 100K subscribers, it might be really good publicity for the game
