Hey Manu, congrats on the progress and hope you feel better.

Saw you mentioned the Steam page - are you hesitant to put one out there as a result of the game most likely not meeting the requirements to be included in the festival? Or will that be coming soon?

Thanks.

pen,
I just published the page yesterday, hoping it'll help to grow the wishlist, as it's good to get a better launch on Steam. :)

TE4 could have been on the Festival, but I should have published the store page before the deadline and likely did a trailer video too, while the requirements stated they should both be done before the festival starts and not before to register for it...

Hey there Manu, hope you're doing well!

It took me a while to catch up to TE4's development - I only occasionally come over to the forum to see how it's coming along - but I gotta say that it's superb by the looks of it!

So, as I was reading through an older mini-blog post regarding the online setup for consoles, a question came to me: would it be possible that porting over TE4 to modern consoles (PS4/PS5/Xbox One & Series) could spur its popularity among gamers even further, to the point of making a competitive/eSports scene viable in the future?

I'll leave my post at this, but on a final note, I'm really excited for TE4 & I've already added it to my wishlist on Steam. Thanks for your attention, cheers! :)

Marcos Nion,
my hope is that the console ports will triple the number of TE players ; considering that tennis games seem to sell 8~10 more on consoles than on PC, it feels like a reasonable goal, but maybe it isn't, so we will have to wait & see for the results... :blackeye:

Hey Manu,

Nice to hear about anim-modding being added soon, perhaps I can take a further look at the sliding anims properly as I started on with TE3, when the time comes, it would be nice to talk in more detail about how anim modding will be done in TE4 with fbx format etc. So if you ever are available just send me an email!

rharm2,
anim modding will work almost the same way than in TE2013, except instead of having to use 3DS Max 8 and exporting to .X file, you can use any software exporting to .FBX instead.
I'll also have to build a Unity package to test the anims in Unity and export them as Unity packages afterward.

Thank you Manu, that is very intersting to know that
So, we will be able to add new sounds and anims, even with new 3DS Max or similar which are compatible with .FBX ; that is great news.
What about 2D (photorealistic courts) . Will it be possible to add them as TE2013 ?

Will it possible to edit a tuto about Unity, if you have time?
Thanks again for all.

Hi manu
How close are we to a Steam release? From what I understand from the miniblog once the online is done (and seems close to being done) the game will be published in steam early access. Can we expect a march release? Thanks!

Fed1,
I want all the NPCs & the low-detail players to be new ones for the Steam release, plus fixing the online exploits if there's any and likely have a demo version 1st, so I'm aiming for a June release.

abc010101,
it's unlikely, as it'll be relatively long to do everything to support the anim Modding, especially I'll also do the name-based Modding instead of numbers, which requires many changes in the menus & the engine.
