Good to hear your health is improving! Please prioritize your health. As someone living in the US, I'll also suggest to be extra careful whenever to you travel here in the States as medicals bills are over the roof here.

Hi Manu, I'm sorry about your foot, I thought you were feeling better.

I'm glad sales are going well :)
Due to the heat in the summer, I rarely turn on my PC, so I don't play TE4 much. I also check every now and then for updates for Linux ;)
Italy winner of the 2023 and 2024 Davis Cup. Thanks guys!

Reading the latest dev blog, it's hard to understand when motion capture will arrive in the game  If I understand correctly, it mainly depends on your tennis player, who seems quite absent...

Glad to hear sales are going well and sorry to hear about your foot! prayers for a speedy recovery.
I saw the evening edit. Good to know he's on vacation and motion capture will resume in a few weeks.

Couple questions:
- have you ever been approached by a big company to merge/buy TE4?
- have you considered AI when doing development (bugs, fixes) also is there AI motion capture?

Everybody,
I just added that record in the last post : "Average player over a month record on Steam for TE2013 was 70 in April 2020 (ie: during COVID confinement) ; TE4 broke this record in March with 71.9 and reached 83 in June !"

Actarus69,
thanks. :)

Comatorium182,
I got him on phone ; he's away for 2 weeks, so hopefully the session will happen around July 26th.

mostar387,
1) yes => viewtopic.php?p=252097#p252097
2) I follow AI progression (more or less) and I use it for some tasks ; it's not tomorrow that it's going to start to fix my bugs, though... :blackeye: (and probably not in a distant future either)
3) I talked a couple of times about AI motion capture in previous posts but didn't pick it

Thanks Manu for the update, appreciate it.

Question about motion capture and next update or beta version that will include the new motion capture : do you plan to do motion capture for the running animations mainly? Or do you plan to motion capture the winning / losing point anims too, the player bouncing on his legs after end of point, this kind of "secondary" animations ?

I've wrote a full feedback a few months ago here about current animations : https://www.managames.com/Forum/topic15-36310.php#p295499

I'm curious if you will include that too, as a player of TE4, I feel these anims would be important to update as well, in order to achieve a fully realistic animation system (even I know it's a huge work for you only to achieve)

Thanks !

matservant,
I don't have a plan to update these animations, but once on the court, I can record them and we'll see if I get to them one day. :blackeye:

The moment you will intergrate the motion capture animation, we will have the best tennis game in history. Please dont stop the amazing work! I love it on my ps5!

Maybe you can try getting the victory, entrance, gestures animations which should be easier

I am happy you are doing better, Manu (health wise). I expected a few bumps in using the mocap system. Usually things don't go well when using development systems. I also think having mocap will make TE4 the best tennis game.

Manu, maybe you should do the motion capture yourself instead of the pro ATP player you might perform better than him.

imo from what you shown, still think like the running doesn't feel "alive" or dynamic like irl players, but I'll give my full feedback after you work it out and introduce it to the game after cleaning. The more important thing is having clean sidesteps, and micro steps for footwork. Also a split step when you let go of movement input, just visually, would be amazing but ofc not necessary. Also that autopositioning animation would be neat, specially when returning serves. Also if you're holding down the autopos before serve, a "split step" animation could go off right before impact.
