anrox335,
we did a few extra animations, but I can do these ones myself in my office anyway.

tmihai20,
thanks ! :)

Thomas,
he's not the fastest player ever, but he's in good shape and faster than most amateur players, including myself at my top, and nowadays I'm very far from my top... And I'm not talking only about my ankle... ':D
Plus I videotaped myself when I was ~20 years old and got humbled right away : I was very stiff and mechanical compared to pros, and blatantly slower than them, despite having quite a decent speed for a club player. :blackeye:

Jira,
there are 2 issues :
- the inertia system has a bad tendency to capture movements with less amplitude than they really have, which means they lack impact and look less natural
- Jules is already a very good tennis player, but he's 1 step behind the pros we see on TV in terms of movement efficiency (and possibly speed)

That's fine. Couldn't you like sped up the anims or something like a +5% idk hahahaha also what about the other sugestions I did, are there any plans on introducing split steps for returning when standing still and mid rally if you are not pressing any movement input when the opponent hits?? (that's the way I move personally while I play, just like irl tennis I stop right before they're gonna hit so I think a split animation happening there would be neat)

Jira,
the plugin I'm using recommends speeding up the animations by 10% max, but it won't make them look powerful like a pro who actually can reach that speed.
I don't have plans to add the split steps, but we recorded that animation just in case.

I love the new motion-captured animations!
Besides what you mentioned, they look super smooth. Significantly improves the visual quality of the game. :applause:

Hi manu, just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your work on the game, I know you're tired and dealing with all the stuff you mentioned but holy cr*** you're good. Your game is far better thatn those 'AAA' games with a huge budget. I really like the new animations, there will always be limitations of course but you're obviously the best dev out there, thank you for giving us this amazin game!! I know it won't happen any time soon, but I can't wait for TE5 lol

I was also quite pleasantly surprised too. My eye is not detecting all those things you mentioned, the only one I would love to see fixed is the sidestep animation (the animation when the player is moving left and right only).

Hey Manu watch videos of top spin3 it may be the most smoothest running animations ever done for tennis games

Hi Manu watch this point from Sinner vs Aliassime to get inspiration for your footwork anims I think he's the best ever: youtu.be/A6LWY8_OdtY?feature=shared&t=377

Oh yeah, I love the good news, especially the ones about good income. This is what I am always saying to my friends. I am always telling them to buy a movie, a TV series or a game if they like it. Sometimes it means making a subscription (even if only for a month), sometimes it is easier (like buying TE4).

Hi Manu,

I'm glad the earnings are going well :)

In my own small way, when someone asks me if I know tennis video games, I always mention TE4, showering it with praise of course, which is what I think.

I'm looking forward to your release of v1.0a for Linux as well, of course after you've made sure there are no bugs.
