Very weird glitch occurring relating to the training club, which only affects player 1. Essentially, player 1 has details that don't save to the character save slots. I'll try to show the effect as best as I can:

1) Create a player in current player slots 2, 3, or 4 (with all skills above 0 to see the effect)

TEM2_000.jpg

2) Save this player in any of the 36 character save slots

TEM2_001.jpg
I saved to character slot 2

3) Load this player into current player slot 1 (all details should be as they were before at this point)

TEM2_002.jpg

4) Try saving the player from current player slot 1 into any of the 36 character save slots (the name should be saved as "0" instead of the actual character name)

TEM2_004.jpg
I saved to character slot 1

5) Load this newly saved player into any current player slot, where all data shown should be deleted

TEM2_005.jpg
I loaded into current player slot 2, this is exactly what was shown

I don't know if the character in slot 1 will still work with all stats in a training match because I haven't tested that yet

I have noticed a couple of things when playing in training club:

1) The player seems to take a bit too long to be able to move again after slicing. The delay seems to work and make sense for acceleration shots, but it is a bit too long for slices in my opinion.

2) The strike counter for a rally includes shots which miss. I've noticed that the strikes increments after a shot is hit, not when it lands, so a simple solution would be to subtract 1 from the total count if the ball lands out/is hit into the net.

3) If I pause the game, select settings/player stats/match stats/help, then press back, the music stops playing even though I am still in the pause menu.

4) There is no in-game way of changing the controls I could find, although I could change them in the tennis.ini so it was only a minor issue (or I missed something).

5) I would suggest that for a player controlled by a human (in the training club), the stress stat should be irrelevant, as it would depend on the real life user and how they would respond to the situation anyway so in a way this seems to overdo it. I can, however, understand this being used for a coached player in the world tour that is taken over by a human because the stat needs to be trained and it would create a loophole in a way if the user controlled every match, as the stat as a whole would become redundant.

I think this should apply to concentration, cold blood, tactics, positioning, and self confidence, i.e. almost all of the "mind" skills. I'm not exactly sure what constancy actually does, so I'm not including that.

6) As for viewing tournament draws, changing from singles to doubles and vice versa for the Davis Cup always changes to the first tie baing played, as opposed to the same nations' singles and doubles matches.

MichaelTA,
0) I tried and it worked normally.
2 possibilities for bugging on your PC :
- you did that after a lot of changes, and some internal buffer was full (which will be fixed once I'll have ported the game to the Unity engine)
- or your Tennis.ini got corrupted (which is likely a consequence of the former)

1) Ok, I'll look into that when I'll be testing the gameplay for TE4

2) The counter is a strike count and not the rally length so it's ok for me :blackeye:

3) FFNU

4) It's the 4-arrow icon on the bottom left of the character sheet when your player is set to Human instead of CPU (and also in the in-game stat screen => F5 shortcut)

5) For TE4, I thought about a slider to decide about how much the Cold Blood would affect our player ; although at this point I'm still undecided about what skills are going to make it into TE4 for a user controlled player
For TEM2, it'll stay like this, as the goal is to mirror the World Tour behavior, so you get to train with all its rules.

6) FFNU

I'm using players that I copied from TE2013 and it's a different profile than default, but I tried again with the default profile and the same thing happened. Unless copying players from TE2013 fills up some internal buffer now, I don't see what the issue would be (to be clear, a player was copied from world tour to training club in TE2013, then from TE2013 to TEM2)

I don't see why this would only affect the player in slot 1 of the 4 in the training club however, yet not affect players 2-4.

I exported a player from TE2013 World Tour to its Training Club, copied the .ini file over TEM2, and loaded it in Player 1 and saved it & reloaded it in Player 4 and it worked fine, so I'm not sure what's going on on your PC... :fear:

When I recruit other players (wta tour) they're characters are male and not female, is this a bug?

boyysingerrrr,
indeed it was, and it's now fixed in today's build, thanks to your report !
Note: it's only fixed for future recruited players, not current ones.

Hey Manutoo, first of all the game is fantastic and the gameplay is more realistic than ever. I've been playing couple of careers on WTA Tour so far with different type of players and there are couple of things I noticed (this is only about controlling the player in a live match):

1- Serve is too slow and inconsistent - I've been playing with Serena Williams and all serve skills are between 96-100% however, i usually have around 40% of first serves in and it rarely goes above 180kmh (once or twice during tight 2 setter), Aside from that i usually have around 40-60% won on first serve while on second i have around 80% (i always use slice serve as second). Also, max number of aces i had was 5.

2- Return - It's almost impossible to hit a decent return on opponent's first serve even if it goes around 150kmh. I usually have to go with slice shot but if i try to hit strong return it goes into the net or out regardless of power and precision.

3- Opponent's slice - It's way too effective and even if I am attacking and opponent barely gets to the ball i get a very fast and precise slice back and usually lose the point with an error.

4- Too many errors - Even though i love the new gameplay where there are random errors and it makes the game more realistic, it kinda feels like there's a bit too many of them. Unless i get the slowest possible ball with high bounce i can't attack the opponent. Most of the rallies end up with both me and opponent hitting slices until someone makes an error.

A couple more small bugs I found:

1) Whenever I navigate the menu via arrow keys, and reach the exit game button, the tooltip appears underneath my cursor.

TEM2_006.jpg

2) Also when using arrow keys to navigate, there seems to be a 4th off screen option that does not do anything in the give up menu.

TEM2_007.jpg
TEM2_007.jpg (24.43 KiB) Viewed 746 times

3) When trying to press the left arrow to lower the FH or BH consistency, I can only toggle the single/double handed option - there should be some more space between the bars and the button to toggle this option.

TEM2_008.jpg
TEM2_008.jpg (17.57 KiB) Viewed 746 times

4) I agree with gilekarakter with the first serve percentage being a little low, but nowhere near the extent that they experienced as I am getting percentages in the high 50s where the power, consistency and precision all match at 75% (I would assume that the issue lies with the "Feminize" option changing the stats a little too much). On the men's matches I tried, all of the rest of the issues that gilekarakter stated don't seem to be there, although difficulty level may be a factor as well (possibly - I'm using master 5 and I think you said that the world tour uses Pro 10 by default).

5) Just to clarify on my point about slices before (which I'm aware won't be tested quite yet), the delay only seems to be an issue with moving forward to the net after a slice, as moving left/right it seems OK now that I'm getting used to the longer delay. I find it really awkward to move to the net, regardless of court type, and the only consistent way I can approach the net is after a dropshot which I hit from inside the baseline.

gilekarakter,

1) a) Do you miss often on left/right ? If you always aim correctly left/right, with your serve Power = Consistency, then you should get 70% serves in. (ie: only net/long faults are random)

b) With 100% in Power & Consistency, you'll get an average of ~179km/h (111mph). This is a bit better than Williams at last Wimbledon final.
However, your max serve speed will be 10% above your average which gives ~197km/h (122mph), and it's is a bit under Williams best at this same match. On the other hand, Kerber max speed is very close to her average, so there's no general rule working for all cases here.

2/3/4) In what difficulty level are you playing ?

And thanks for the praise ! :)

MichaelTA,
1) It's working as designed, but maybe it's not designed perfectly... :blackeye:
Where would you expect the tooltip to be ?

2) 3) FFNU

5) Hum, maybe it should have less blocking but only on the forward movement then. I'll look into that as well in the future. :)

Something like one of these possibly (just ideas, but only for when the exit button is reached by the use of arrow keys, not the mouse):

TEM2_003.jpg

TEM2_004.jpg

My personal preference is the 2nd of the 3 options

MichaelTA,
ok, I'll do the 3rd one and move it around in case the button is too near the bottom. It's actually a good idea for preparing the port to the consoles for TE4, as it won't have a mouse cursor there... :)

1) The last match I played (and lost :blackeye: ) I had 71% of 1st serve in, which is great.
2/3/4) I played Pro sub-level 10 and i was winning matches easily so i switched to Incredible sub-level 5 which was the level i always played on TE2013. I am usually playing matches against players i defeated easily on that level with Power Baseliners, like Sharapova, for example. Now i lose to her in tight 2 sets. I attached match stats from the last match i played against Henin (always struggled against her but would usually win in the end). Her slices and angles killed me i couldn't even be defensive, ball would go out right away :?

gilekarakter,
ok, I didn't test the Incredible level at all, and I don't plan to have a consistent difficulty level between TE3 and TEM2/TE4, especially as I may raise a bit the difficulty of the Incredible CPU (if it's not already done enough :P ).

A few things I noticed recently when playing:

1) When viewing the practise partners screen, if I view the doubles race rankings, this shows:

TEM2_000.jpg

2) In the tour finals event, the round numbers are shown as R1, R2, and R3, whereas they should be RR (Round Robin instead of Rounds 1, 2, and 3).

TEM2_001.jpg
TEM2_001.jpg (14.53 KiB) Viewed 613 times

3) When viewing head to head with 2 coached players (I'm assuming any number above 1 would make this happen), the arrows don't actually change the coached player being compared with the opponent, however if I use the arrows, then click to bring up the head to head screen, then exit that screen, the players will be updated.

4) If not selected for Davis Cup, the auto-rebook option doesn't work.

5) The TE2013 graphics are still there for trying to travel with more than 3 players. A question I have though is does this limitation need to exist or could it be raised to 4 or 5? It would be much more convenient for it to be a little more lenient considering whenever a player has an abundance of money after winning grand slams and masters events they can afford it without having a dent made on their finances.

TEM2_007.jpg

6) If a 2 week event is played (with auto rebook on) and the event doesn't happen every year (the Olympics in my case), I cannot select a tournament in the 2nd week the next year unless I select a new tournament the previous week (which can then be deselected again so it's not a huge issue).

7) When viewing a 3D match, the music doesn't stop playing after it starts in a menu.

8) When saving a coaching strategy, the name already has a "0" entered when typing a name in.

9) When viewing the "Sponsors" tab, the word inside the raputation bar doesn't update when switching between players.

10) A couple of ideas for of coaching options:
-Lob will
-Pass cross-court vs down the line

11) Could you add each change of ends during a tiebreak as an important points option?

12) When I pressed space during a match, a pause menu came up which seems out of place - I can pause using escape or enter even when this pause menu is active, then when I exit the main pause menu, this other pause menu disappears. I think it should also say "Press space" instead of "Press pause".

TEM2_016.jpg
TEM2_016.jpg (12.79 KiB) Viewed 613 times

13) During the Davis Cup, if I'm not selected for either singles or doubles, could the text display whether it is for singles or doubles instead of only saying I wasn't selected?
