I see people asking for Hawkeye every now and then, but I’ve honestly never really felt like the game needed it. For those close calls, if I really want to check how close it was, I just use the replay and switch to ball cam.
It would be a nice addition, like pretty much any feature people bring up, but for me it’s never been something important.
For immersion though, like I mentioned before, net physics and walking animations between points would be insane, but I imagine both would take a lot of work.
Manutoo,
No worries about the delay, and really nice post. Thanks for sharing that with us. That sales boost was insane, and definitely well deserved.
I also found your take on vibe coding really interesting. I worked as a web developer for a while a few years ago, mostly with Vanilla JS at first, then React, Node.js, and MongoDB. I ended up leaving about a year after GPT became a real thing, and even back then it was already wild. There was so much pressure to use it everywhere and speed everything up.
For all the side projects I built during those years, I knew every detail because I wrote everything myself. You end up knowing your codebase inside and out, and I kinda miss that. It's pretty crazy now that you can focus much more on architecture and how things should be structured instead of spending hours writing code. But like you said, for large, long term projects, that can become extremely difficult to manage. Things can get out of hand and become way too complex way too quickly.
That said, I'm not going to pretend I don't use it all the time. It's an incredibly powerful tool, and I completely agree with your point that it really comes down to knowing when and how to use it, and hopefully we don't get too lazy with it.
