For both TE4 and Tennis Manager I personally don't know about others but wish careers could last more than 15 years nowadays players are playing way into their 30s and not been given a chance to do so currently with these games. Also the fact skills start to drop from 25 years old when a lot of players nowadays seem to be getting better and develop more.

Would just like to play a career in both games way into my players 30s and still be able to win and contend for grand slams.

Hi! I´m looking forward to TE4.

I hope its not to late for small ideas for this new version.

1. Start with ELO 400 instead of ELO 1000
It would be a really small change, but with a reason. When you start Online, your ELO is 1000. But 90% of the players are completly beginners, and their real strength is more at 400. So they are perfect food for other players to collect elo very fast and easy.

2. Career Mode AI player development
I would wish a (optional) mode where the AI players develop depending on Talent/Potential, Results and Injuries (higher chance of longer injuries with higher age).
The current develop system leads often to weird results, specially at the beginning of the season. The ratings change from one to the other season often dramatical (mainly because the player had a injury in real life and his ranking position goes down a lot). Also, there is no possibility that a player has a much different career than in real life, because its hard coded for every pro year. Not every user (like me) whats this.

DarktowerQ,
1) if players start with 400 points, then it won't change anything except everybody will have 2.5 times less ELO points.

2) Future years will be random, so you'll be able to Mod the game to create a starting year of your choice, and then see it randomly evolves.

If you give a bit more ELO for the winner this wouldnt be the case.

I spoke about an "optional" possiblility that the ini rankings getting ignored and instead the player develop depending on Talent, Results and Injuries. For this you need 2 new Ratings like Talent /Injury danger (what you allready have as i saw at the TE Manager screenshots) and a calculation which simulates this frequently for every player. Doesnt sound that complecated from the programming part. The challenge would be to find the best values/formular for a realistic (random) development which means a lot of simulation/testing. For this you could but the ratings for the players development into a ini file, that the users can experiment with different values to find the best settings, which you can adjust at a later update.
What you created with TE13 was awesome, in my opinion the most realistic tennis simulation existist on the game market. And i am pretty sure you will make the play experience even better. Also the simulated results of the AI matches are very good and realistic. But it sucks at the player development (AI). You should have the illusion that player really improve or worsen realistic depending on different factors. This is what i wish.

DarktowerQ,
1) If the system gives extra points to the winner, then it won't be an ELO system anymore and it'll be a system where playing more will allow to get more points. Read here for more info => https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elo_rating_system .

2) Yes, it's what it does already in TEM2 in the future years, except injuries last only 1 tournament (ie: there's a chance to miss a tournament, plus a chance to get injured during the tournament, and that's all)

It would be handy if we could have something like 'FavTournament' in the players.ATP. It could work in the same way as FavPartner does where we
select in this case the tournament number from the Tour.ini. It would stop Federer from playing at Queen's instead of Halle like he keeps doing in my game. :rabbit:

1. Individual Slice and topspin shot stats for more individual characters.
For example (and realistic): Weaker backhand drive but good slice or weak forehand drive but good topspin for defensive plays.

2. Ball physics need to look better for a more modern look. Courts look great even now. Players (with mods) look more realistic than in every tennis game but it's just because of their animations. If the graphics would be like topspin 3 (as mentioned) it would be very very good.

Would be nice to have a 2 player career where you and a friend can play against each others players in tournaments. Would like to see an online career where everyone uses original players.

Hi!
this is the best tennis game i have played... much better than top spin 4.

Of course there is something to improve...
in my opinion some animations is missing.... especially this one:

Good evening, I've been thinking about that for a while. I don't know if someone has already given that idea.

TE4 should give us a new playing style, an offensive/defensive hybrid : moderate baseliner.

In my opinion, a lot of players now play that way.

Hello everybody.

I enjoy TE2013. I love the courts, phisycs and tournaments. I love the crowd after points, the referee and lines judges moviments. I love the views of Centre Court. I love how crowd is really small in Qualifiers and 1st Round and according to the week, the crowd will increase until the final match. :D :D

I don't like patches, because the Davis Cup becomes terrible, for example if I will play at home with the Brazilian team versus the France team this matches might occur in Roland Garros courts!!!!!!!!!. :( :(

I play the original game. However the match can be a little repetitive over the years because all matches in Futures, Challengers and ATP 250 and above are played only in the Centre Court.

I think that it can be designed a MiniCourt like are played in most of Challengers and Futures like this Image

and used for Qualifiyings in ATP, Masters 1000 and Grand Slams like this Image

In fact this MiniCourts are used in less important matches in ATP and above which there isn't seeds in court.

I think that can improve the sensation for play in Centre Court against the seed #1 in ATP and above. 8-) 8-)

Thanks

you have a guest account and came to talk about another tennis game and tell I should use it as an example and I checked it and it looked horrible so I thought you were there for hidden ads... :fear:

If you want to see a better TE4, there's no need to point to other games ; just explain as clearly and as in depth as possible what you think is wrong in TE2013, and if possible, expose possible solutions to make you enjoy the game more. And if you really need to show some example, then pick real tennis matches on Youtube.

You probably checked video on youtube? There not much good gameplay records. Of course that game easy to play, much auto positioning, but gameplay enough deep with many things (or close to) which I will text below.
I very want to have in new TE much deeper play at net, more actions and control (maybe, made playing at net bit easier, now its very hard even with high skill and you cant do many things which you want). Now its mostly depends of luck, and because we just playing at devices, we cant handle it like in real tennis so need to do something to counter it.
Then, make able to play more different styles, because now it usually same too (u need to make balance even after release to havent advantageous tactics as far it possible, because now its usually just short acc and simple acc to be good player, no tactics, no imagination)
More volley styles like drive-volley, half-volley etc.
Smash on smash also would be amazing https://youtu.be/qS05XtMnE1k?t=2m34s (there many smashes which I want to see in game, look till end video, there amazing one vs Roddick)
Then much more free in spins, e.g shot like arc by Murray https://youtu.be/uEpJq2-zi3w?t=1m5s and half-volley by Fed after it.
Tweeners would be nice also, and trick shots like this https://youtu.be/TF73W6lWyno?t=3m3s (maybe just button or combo buttons to hit risky, but trick shot).
Sabre on return (not drop shot and not slice, it much deeper).

I will keep suggest if remember something else, but all these things should make TE4 best tennis game ever.

Little bit more:
In general, in TE the variety in gameplay is enough limited, it is impossible to play "freely" in movements and shots. So after thousand+ matches game becomes very boring and routine. and trying to play beautifully turn into punish defeats.
Yes, the game has an excellent physics, but does not have degrees of freedom. It seems that playing Berdych, who simply does not have the skills for a "beautiful" and "inspired" game (only here the game does not have this skill).
Need to change or rebuild the mechanics of shots, because now too much shots with side spin are almost impossible (a banana shot reminds something similar, but it is completely unplayable and even like trick this shot is very complicated and useless, you cant use it to win except 1 time of 1000), I'm about make possible manually add very strong spin to any strike(or almost), some like the modifier like kind of the same motion button, e.g move the joystick semicircle and you will get it https://youtu.be/U8mWWsqqRUM?t=48s, or with Short strike (or any other possible shot) will be like https://youtu.be/x65IVRfuzwM?t=12m30s or https://youtu.be/x65IVRfuzwM?t=12m48s, https://youtu.be/x65IVRfuzwM?t=14m56s
Also will work with:
Passing shots, like https://youtu.be/ayNOWALhWR8?t=3s or kind of https://youtu.be/uE_igFF68vo?t=2m13s (but here need less side, more top spin), and like squash shot https://youtu.be/fF33HrY3GCc?t=1m34s
Shot in full extend, or with bonus step usually like around the net (with additional power, but can be used only at finish moment intense rally and will spend enough stamina, or in perfect position when ball too far), by Fed https://youtu.be/fF33HrY3GCc?t=7s and also it favorite Wawrinka shot https://youtu.be/U8mWWsqqRUM?t=38s , https://youtu.be/U8mWWsqqRUM?t=1m20s , https://youtu.be/8xomwMsYVhA?t=12s , https://youtu.be/8xomwMsYVhA?t=7m58s
Air-shots like this https://youtu.be/fF33HrY3GCc?t=6m46s very important part of beauty game (now it's impossible, if you trying to hit ball on air you will be confused because player just don't know how to hit before touching court)
Sabre, maybe as talent for freely using by Roger https://youtu.be/fF33HrY3GCc?t=5m53s
Smash on smash https://youtu.be/fF33HrY3GCc?t=7m19s
Tweeners https://youtu.be/fF33HrY3GCc?t=2m19s
These strikes can be a little scripted, for example, using the modifier button depending on the position of the player and ball. (so that the same button activates the tweener when ball is behind the player, or when the high rebound after the opponent smash would activate the smash on smash, etc.

As I see, this requires changing the mechanics of the "sweet spot", because to hit the ball now it is necessary to move the static model of the player exactly near to ball, but we all understand that in real tennis very important the movements of the body and hands, such as:
slopes, stretch legs, jerks, and so more. Therefore, to repeat this on the gamepads, keyboards is almost impossible,so I suggest to do this Auto or semi-auto to catch ball properly and make the game more tactical, and not depending only on the reaction and repetition.
Maybe, just need a little change, "the weight of ball, its acceleration" to make rally deeper, longer and more interesting.
