Thankyou for replying, Manu - but I have already read that post and must still be doing something wrong.

i) The alternative net sound works fine. I have an global sound folder with a sound.ini in it which specifies the net sounds.
ii) The same method for alternative crowd sounds doesn't seem to work. I tried different methods; I tried with and without the sound.ini in the global folder, I tried renaming all the sounds to a shorter file name, then tried naming the files the same as in the Sounds folder, have tried various things with the system Sound_mod.ini - I can't seem to get it working.

Some of my courts have little or no crowd in attendance. It detracts from the ambience and sounds a bit weird for a crowd to suddenly cheer like they're watching the final at Arthur Ashe.

Left Foot Brake,
to prevent upgrade malfunctions, you shouldn't change the game's Sounds.ini.
Today's update allows the Crowd sounds to have their own folder (coming on Steam within 3 days). Hopefully, it'll help to make it work.

Making progress on the sounds.... kind of. 8-)

I haven't edited the Sound.ini just the Sound_Mod.ini - I was just trying to see how it worked in a desperate attempt to add my crowd sounds.

The Serve, Hit, Bounce and Skid sounds for each court are all sorted, my custom Net sounds are thumping, Umpires tweaked, ambient tracks are pretty immersive and the crowd is now perfectly balanced for the spectator density of each venue.

One thing I have noticed (maybe imagining it ... IDK) is that defining the scene in the Stadium.ini affects the frequency of the crowd sounds - even though the crowd isn't drawn as my mod only uses 2D courts.
The crowd seems more likely to use stronger levels of applause if the scene is TET500 or one of the Slams as opposed to a Challenger or TET250 event. I can't find this information anywhere in the forum, so I'll share it just in case it helps anyone else - please correct me if I'm totally wrong.

I had already worked around getting the crowd sounds into the game using the Global folder option in the Surface.ini of a court, it all seems to be working...

..... but now I am going to annoy you about the Fault/Out calls.

Grand Slams have been using fully automated line call system for a while as we all know; but certainly many national and regional level tournaments still use normal humans as Tennis has done for 100+ years and I have tried to reflect this in my mod. Some of my courts only have an umpire in attendance, some are played in just local-looking neighborhood tennis courts - places where the Hawkeye automated system would not be used! I have already sorted my fault calls into Grand Slam, Tour-Level, National-type and Amateur style fault calls.... can't seem to get them working.

Help please!

Left Foot Brake,
1) No, there's no influence from the stadium selection

2) I don't understand what you're asking me..?

Sorry to bother you Manu, I really appreciate your hard work and your time...

I want to change the fault call sounds for each court. I have added crowd and net sounds using a Global folder, but the fault calls are still played from my default Sounds folder, not my Global sound folder.
Is it possible to change the fault sounds as well?

:D :D :D :D

Thankyou, sir!

The new way to mod sound is really good! :applause:
I have spent a LOT of time trying to make the sound as unique and appropriate to each venue as I can.
I would give the sound on my Mod's first release a 1/10 - now it's got to be at least an 8/10 - a huge improvement!

Thankyou so much!

Hi, I have a couple of questions. Is it possible to add your own umpire voice to each stadium in the stadium.ini? From what I read in this topic I think not, but I'm asking just in case.

And another question is about adding different languages to the umpire voices like Spanish, Portuguese, etc, I read this topic topic29-31095.php for TE2013, but I think it's not working in TE4.

Was just thinking the same thing....!
I have a Japanese-speaking umpire, but I can't really assign him to my Japanese courts.

champi1986 & Left Foot Brake,
I just added the point #4 in the 1st post. It'll work in the next update.

Would you need a voice defined per stadium or is per country enough ?

It is more powerful to have individual stadium umpires, but it's probably more practical to have specific country-defined umpires. French voices at French-speaking courts for example.
Thankyou again very much for your tireless work!

Well, for me it's enough if we can add umpire languages per country, as Left Foot Brake says, it's more powerful by stadium, but less practical. So, it's fine with the new addition. :blackeye: Thanks.

champi1986 & Left Foot Brake,
I had forgotten the bit to assign the language to the countries ; I just added that for the next update and the explanations to point #4.
