I first made this player thinking of David Ferrer, but this AI player turns out playing quite differently - He attacks the net quite a bit, and sometimes uses serve-and-volley, too. Anyway, note the following with outcome of this match:
- I was out-aced 5-18, which reflects how difficult it is to break the opponent's serve.
- The opponent hit 11 return winners on my serves (some were 1st serves), which made it very difficult for me to hold serve.
Note that if it's not because of these advantages (in serving & receiving) given to the AI player, I would have had a fair chance to win this match. His 13 additional aces plus his 11 return winners already gave him 24 points!
Look, I've said enough about the same problem so I'll stop here. Will stop playing this game for a while too as right now it is getting a little frustrating. Anyway, thanks for reading.
Hamsteak wrote:Actually, I read that before, although back then I thought some of these were only relevant to online playing. About your assessment of the serve / return power of the CPU, apart from the fact that you (the game's maker) is most probably a better player than I am, is it also a possibility that the difference could be caused by me and you using different computers? I always play the game on my Toshiba laptop, by the way. If this possibility cannot be ruled out, I would suggest you change nothing in the actual game but perhaps add a parameter in the configuration file (one for CPU serving, one for CPU returns, etc) for people like myself to adjust to suit accordingly. Just a thought..
Thanks heaps again
