Paying for new anims ?

Postby manutoo » 09 Dec 2012, 07:02

Hello,

Lucian86 asks me some money to bundle with the game his new Federer, Djokovic and Nadal animations.

I don't want to pay for them, coz :
- they will be made freely available in the Forum, so if I bundle them with the game, it's mainly for save time to people wanting to Mod their game
- there are already animations inspired from these players in the game (even if their quality may be less great, they are still good enough)
- I don't think much people care to buy the game just for some new anims : it's where this poll comes in handy to prove me wrong... ;-)

So if you're willing to pay some extra, or still didn't buy the game but would buy it for these anims, then let me know.
If we reach enough people, I'll let everyone know, let them pay and then I'll pay Lucian86.

I need 25 new copies, or 250 Euros extra, or a mix of the 2 (with 1 copy = 10 Euros extra), to deal with all the hassle... :blackeye:

Important notes:
- after have voted in this poll, send me a message with your Customer ID if you already bought the game, or just your info so I could contact you again if you still didn't buy the game, here => https://www.managames.com/mail_en/?subje ... n%20TE2013 >> No Message = Vote Not Counted <<
- be sure to be able to pay by Paypal
- If there's a rich maecenas who wants to pay all extras at once, then he'd just need to send me 200 Euros (coz it'd save me a lot of time & hassle).

Here the list of the extra anims (some are enhanced versions of anims already in the game) :

FEDERER'S PACK:
-"backhand regular and acceleration" + "backhand volley regular and acceleration" + "smash forehand regular and acceleration" + "smash backhand regular + acceleration" (yet to finish this one)
- "wait" + "return stance" + "move left and move right" (which has the same racquet holding in the waiting position for a better looking view)
- "forehand volley regular and acceleration"
- "service regular and acceleration"
- "forehand regular and acceleration"
- "slice backhand" (a very improved version)
- "slice forehand"

NADAL's pack:
- "backhand regular and acceleration"
- the same volleys, smashes, slice forehand from Federer's pack, move left and right animations, ALL adapted to the same "wait" initial and final position
- "service regular and acceleration" (completely revamped)
- "wait" + "return stance"
- "slice backhand"

DJOKOVIC's pack:
- "wait" + "return stance"
- "service regular and acceleration"
- the same volleys, smashes, slice forehand from Federer's pack, move left and right animations, ALL adapted to the same "wait" initial and final position
- "slice backhand"

Most should be viewable here => http://www.youtube.com/user/Lucian86/videos

So does Lucian want money for doing his animations?

EDIT:
It's OK i've read on another thread that he does. Why don't we pay for sams, dilimas, jaydraco's & and the court modders work? Where will this stop

That's a naive question...maybe you should read again

I don't want to be paid for doing animations (I specificaly said I'll be releasing them for free offline)....I want to be paid if they're being added into the official game ! Hope you're clever enough to understand the difference...Manutoo understands it and that's why he gave us one free key of the game for the previous animations that I gave him (and there are a lot of them). This time though, as you can see, he think my animations don't worth the price I'm asking (exactly 115 euro for Federer, Nadal and Djokovic's packs)

I think none of Dilima's, Sam's, Jaydraco's (except some return stances if I'm not wrong) mods are available into the official version of the game.

True but that from my courtesy ;)

Don't worry, I'm not trying to blackmail you; these 3 packs will be available offline no matter what

Really Andy, you're just a child (I hope for you that's true); not expecting you to understand all this; besides that, learn how to spell right (you're British for Christ's sake)

Why won't we realese two different kinds of key for Tennis Elbow ?
As i knew , Tennis Elbow costs is 24,95 dollars , so i will divide like this :
- Tennis Elbow Offline Mode , doesn't have Online Mode , with 22~23 dollars ( not including shipping costs )
- Tennis Elbow Online Mode , content Off Mode , have lots of Lucian86's animations can play Online , with 27~30 dollars ( not including shipping costs )
( If use this for TE 2013 , with keys of TE 2011 , you have to pay about 2~5 dollars to play online ) .
I think wasn't everybody played TE with Online mode , i'm one of them , and if you guys buy this game at Euro zones , you will see this game is very cheap , but in Asia or Africa, very expensive , and is very hard to have PayPal , or sth like that , in our country . I'm planned to buy this game about 6 months ago , but i still can't find someone has PayPal account .
I think that is the best way to resolved a problem like this , but if you guys doesn't agree with my plan , or change , leave your comment .

I think the most important things to do is improve ( or change ) the gameplay for Tennis Elbow , not for those animations .
BTW , I also have plan 2 for this problem :
Make TE 2013 will be the online tennis game , and in the game we will open a shop , in that shop will have some new animations created by some modders . Buy that for a little money ( 0,5 dollars for 1 animation ) . I think this plan better if our games will have on Steam , but if not , plan 1 , for sure .

I think it is kinda weak to ask Manu to pay for them. If you intended them to be free - then that is what they are. Sure Manu will benefit from having them in the game, but so what? He gave you the game and the platform to create these in the first place. He could have just made it impossible to Mod and that's that. ...if your intent was no to get paid for it, rather do it as a hobby and a "ego" polishing, then there is no issue. You got your fans/praises and your credits in every mod. :applause:

It looks to me you are a bit jealous of the fact that Manu can make a few extra sales because of these animations and you feel entitled to a share of these. Which is understandable, but if you want to be serious about it, you take them off the Forum right away. Then approach Manu and either sell them to him or ask for some sort of monetary arrangement. What you doing is making something "open source" then turn around and decide to charge for it.

It's not the money issue for me, could not care less for 5 euro or whatever...it's the fact that these are free now, and I am being asked to pay for them.

What you should do Lucian86 - is give an option to donate you online. I for once, would have sent you $20 a while ago already. Just to show my appreciation for your work. And I am sure many would do the same, you would end up with more than 200 euro.

Here are some demos where you can see all Federer's animations

Just to be clear, I never asked Manutoo to make you pay extra for the anims (I really hope not); I just said that IMO the new anims are capable of acquiring some new buyers (Manutoo estimated to be 9 in total) that will cover the cost basically
