Could you do something about the dropshot/slice shot we discussed? It's really bothersome, and has a ruining effect to matches. :wink:

you should give a step by step way to reproduce it with a high ratio... Coz when I tested, I needed to more than 30 attempts to see it once, thus the debugging is really hard... :?

It happens just often enough to have an impact on the outcome of the match(though I think 1 time in a match is too much as well lol), and because the shot is lame(because it's almost impossible to hit it back) it ruins matches. I can hit it quite often, not sure how but I can study more into it if you won't believe me lol...

it's not that I don't believe u, it's that I need a way to reproduce it easily, so I can study what are the causes...

I like the custom cam. I wish it could be turned on/off when NOT in DevMode. Like added as a setting in the Camera menu in the pause screen. Not sure if that is possible, but it would be cool to keep in mind for future.
Also, for the blue-green cement and newline synthetic courts, the coloring is off when modifying the view for the custom camera. It doesn't "fill" the court properly.
And I just wanted to mention maybe the addition of a setting to allow the user to set the number of points needed in order to win a tiebreak? i.e. anywhere from 7 up to...say...30. I think it would be cool to play a "super tiebreak" in addition to regular matches. And this setting could be added under the "Games Per Set" option in the Misc Options menu.

There's a way to cheat your opponent by pressing the slice button and then switching to acceleration right before the hit, so that it looks like it's hitting a slice yet hits an acceleration. I'm not sure if this is very fun, would be more fun to be able to read the coming shot correctly. Also it isn't realistic at all.

Im having a problem with the lobs.I dont think it was necessary to direct the lobs in the direction of player.I agree that lobs usage in the middle of the rallies is crazy sometimes but now its really difficult to execute lobs when your opponent comes to the net. So he wins the point just by coming to the net if im not in a position to make a passing shot.

So im not enjoying making errors because of lobs during critical points.Hope its made a bit easier orelse people can come to the net being assured of the point ,majority of the times.

Well I disagree with ahmedcoolio. I don't know how he came up with the argument that coming to the net in rallies is easy, I have noticed anything but. Also lobs aren't some miraculous solution to that, it takes practice to pass well and you shouldn't let your opponent come to the net in the first place! And, people still use the lobs in normal rallies a lot, it's better than before but still annoying. If anything lobs shouldn't be made easier. :wink:

Well making the lobs difficult isnt the solution.Making them more attackable is, which is already done i think and you would agree with me on this one.It is much more easy to attack lobs now so i dont see any problems.Even if someone does lob in between the rally then you should rather be happy that you have a chance of hitting a winner lol

I agree with both of you that a better solution would be to make lobs more attackable. However, the current solution is better than not doing anything at all.

I agree. I think volleying is already hard enough in this game. :roll: I think S.Williamz have a good point here about
shouldn't let your opponent come to the net in the first place. I also agree with Chiller that the lob is generally very attackable. So, I don't think it's too much of a concern. :wink:

Overall I support the current settings of the lob (very realistic), and keep the status quo. :wink:

My point here is for example while volleying you can press fire1+2 button and u need to be well postioned for that but for fire 1 or just fire 2 volley you dont have to be prefectly postioned and you can volley atleast inside the court.
Same isnt the case with lobs.When i press fire 2 and down it goes outside when im on the run which is kinda annoying.So i want a safe strike for lobs as in a higher percentage shot so i can rely on it a bit more rather than dreading to a hit lob.

I think the normal strike should land a bit longer, it would be nice to have a good defensive shot when you are down in a rally, I think if the normal strike was a bit longer it would work well...now if you wanna hit a normal strike in the middle of a rally to defend, the opponent just hits a winner...also I think when returning serve, most returns are really short and thus the opponent takes control easily. With longer normal strikes you would have a little bit more time to get ready. At the moment people just use lobs to defend and that's just ridiculous imo...I really think the game lacks an effective defensive shot(unless you count 100 topspin shots and lobs lol).

@About the lobs :
I know a least a few of you wanted to be able to attack the lobs more easily when playing from the baseline.
But I don't think it's realistic : on a real court, it's really not easy to do anything with a ~2-meter high ball standing ~3 meters after the baseline. Even when it's high enough to be smashed, it's still hard to do an efficient smash. So I wanted to offer a realistic solution to the lob abuse : make the lob harder to do when running. So far, I think the current solution is good enough, even if probably not perfect (as always :) ). And I guess that a bit of help for volleyers is welcome as well... ;)

You can raise ur lob skill to 100% if u want to lower the handicap when lobbing while running.

@Brad1981 :
>> the coloring is off when modifying the view for the custom camera
The court is in 2D, only the lines, the net & the players are in 3D... :roll:

@S.Williamz :
>> There's a way to cheat your opponent by pressing the slice button and then switching to acceleration right before the hit
I inadvertently do this often : when I press B1+B2, I often press the B2 slightly before the B1, thus it starts the slice animation. There's no way to prevent that, except by forcing the use of a 3rd button instead of B1+B2, and disallow to change of button after the anim has started. But I won't do that... :P

>> I think the normal strike should land a bit longer
1- center your strikes in ur cord to avoid the length handicap
2- use the slice, it's slow & more often deep enough to give u time to reposition urself correctly when ur overwhelmed...
