Reviews

“The combat is exquisitely balanced. Yes, it relies on the generic trio of a tank to absorb enemy attacks, a healer to keep the tank standing, and two damage-dealers to take out the actual enemies. Yes, that’s a bit of an unexpected approach for a game that’s so old school in every other aspect. But it works so shockingly well, it’ll give you a brand new appreciation to the entire mechanic.”
4/5 – IndieGameReviewer

On initial impression, the graphics were quite impressive. Very interesting deaths by enemies as well by the way. The combat system was quite unusual for this type of game, and was rather challenging to get a hang of operating at start up. I was actually rather frustrated when I first started playing because of this aspect. I had previously played Legend of Grimrock 1 & 2 and the change in system was quite shocking. However, once I played for a bit and got use to the combat system, it is quite satisfactory now. It’s an interesting twist on group dynamics in a dungeon crawler game. Play for a while and you will see it’s an interesting combat system. I am at Level 4 right now, and I am certainly into the game now. Good job on the design and implementation of the systems. My only semi-negative opinion is with the mapping, or lack there of. Until you find the first map you can’t even see where you have been. This I find fairly annoying. Regardless though, I am enjoying this game. On a rating of 1-10, I would give Fall of the Dungeon Guardians a 7.9.
