Hey all!
After many many years of stalking this forum site to help me with modding TE2013 and now TE4 I have finally joined!
After 8 years of playing TE2013 I finally retired my career mode in it, while I still love the game, I wanted a new challenge so I changed over to TE4. Now when setting up my career I wanted to start in 2018 so that would make sense with my age but also I wanted my player character to basically be contemporary in age to Sinner Alcaraz when they start dominating as I’ll be 2-3 years older than them.
After installing the XKT patch and a few other mods, I started my career in 2018 but soon realised that the schedule was based on the 2023-2024 schedules and so I would have to source my own schedule, now finding a patch for a 2018 tour schedule from Tennis Elbow 2013, I have got the courts and schedule ini but realised that the courts have TE2013 properties as each one has its own ini, now I’ve been told that if the ini can’t be read it will revert to being the generic physics for that surface. But again all the courts designations for courts in the patch for TE2013 are designed for that game. Is there anyone who makes these schedules for historical seasons? And if not, what’s my best way to go about it?
Also if I wanted to keep the XKT physics and 2D pictures for the main tour courts is it just as simple as making sure the ini loads the correct court folders? The main thing I wanted to do was to add in the futures and challenger events from the 2018 patch to expand the futures and challenger roster as this is a bit lacking area in XKT, add in the tournaments that have been removed from the calendar post 2018 and revert the David cup back to its old format. Which are all things already done in the 2018 tour ini file from TE2013 patch, is it as simple as changing the court details? In the ini as the files are very similar mainly just surface things and then making sure the ini’s are gone for the 2018 courts so they don’t cause havoc with the physics?
Also I’ve been using AI to help me with the integration between the ini files, has anyone with modding experience used AI for these sort of things? Or am I just creating more problems if I do? I know from experience running dice logic simulations for a Golf simulator I created that if one small thing is off it can stuff up the output. So should I hold off on AI? Sorry for all the questions, I can’t find any similar discussions on the forums pertaining to this haha.
