Beginner Questions

Postby Jeff Lebowski » 27 Dec 2012, 20:07

A few questions regarding world tour mode...

1) As i go up the rankings, i find that players of similar skills can hit really hard accelerations when the ball is high, hitting it down rather than up, however, i find that when i try this, i just get fairly weak, 'looping' accelerations that don't give me many winners. if i try to take the ball earlier, the autopos just moves me way back

2) i'm sure you've heard this before, but CPU returning is WAY too good, especially for people like Isner, who blasts back 10-15 return winners per game despite be a rubbish returner in RL. do i really have to change the game files to make it more realistic?

3) i find wrongfooting the CPU to be incredibly hard, no matter what corner or angle i put the ball in at, it seems to have much faster reaction times than me and gets to the ball most if not every time, again making it really really hard to hit a decent number of winners

i play at pro-10 by the way

Hello,

1) Set the AutoPos to Medium instead of Fast, so you could take the ball a bit early, hit it around your shoulder height, but don't hit it in its ascending phase, hit it at its top or slightly after

2) you can change all CPU return ability with 1 param => topic15-10079.php

3) take the ball more early ; check with the replay, you'll likely see that most of time, the CPU is almost not moving anymore when you hit the ball

ok, thanks for all the tips, and the great game of course

oh, one more thing - you mentioned in another thread you could map the short strike to a separate key (so you could do short slice easier) - how would you do this?

In Controls -> Remap Strikes

Note: now the short slice combo doesn't start with the short strike anymore, but with the drop shot.

Hy Manutoo

I Have a question. I noticed that the players have not hit the ball with the racquet. I made picture of the issue. Go away the ball before the racquet gets there. Sorry for my English.

Peti91,
sometimes the animation is not correctly synchronized ; this can happen especially when the CPU has to walk forward/backward before to hit the ball.
Also, if you use modded anim, they may contain wrong strike info, leading to such issue.

That issue has nothing to do with Manutoo,It's to do with the modders

Manutoo

Why does the player you're are playing in career, Lose so many Skill/Experience points after every tournament they play?
Even after a Loss/rest or a Great performance, i seem to have to Replenish the points i had before in stats to match the previous tournament i played, so i'm not improving :?

My Question is - What folder do i change to slow the loss of experience points down? Without cheating :fear:

Peti91,
1-if you notice the CPU hits too early or too late of more than 3 frames ( pause replay, and press B1 / B2 to advance / rewind of 1 frame), on an _unmodded_ game, then send me the .dmo and I'll have a look at it.
2- It lets you play offline with an online mode applied to your skills

ComeonANDY!!,
here => topic1-472.php (it's always somewhat cheating, though... )

Thanks for the info Manutoo,it's useful to know :jap: I'm not going to use it tho! As i don't cheat  Anyway since i bought yet another controller, i'm now on a winning streak  My shots are going into the right areas :D So the Loss of experience points isn't an issue now
