Hi team,

Sorry if this has been answered before.

I have lost the sound effects in the game after the latest update. Meaning sounds like grunting, umpire, ball striking etc.

Music and commentary works fine.

Can anybody please help? I have tried restarting my Mac, adjusting the sound on my Mac and it does not fix the issue.

I got your email, but you didn't put the .log which is the most important file in this case.

And as stated in the link above :

If you don't have a Scroll Lock key on your keyboard, you can bind another key in Settings -> Controls -> Shortcuts -> Send Bug Report.

So send me the Bug Report from the game on the Audio screen, so I'll get everything at once.

Apologies, it might be me misunderstanding but I have a Mac Pro and the Send Bug Report option does not exist at all. I have tried googling it and looked on my settings to bind that key but it does not exist.

I have managed to follow the manual steps though on your link and located the .log file and email it to you

I tried reinstalling the whole game from scratch and it works fine. However this issue occurs only when I put XKT Mod into the game...

Hum, it might have an issue with the sound Modding.

1) Did you try to force Rosetta to run the game ? Does it change anything to the sound ?

2) Do you hear the menu sounds when the XKT Patch is installed ?

3) Did you notice any other modding parts that didn't load correctly ?

Please see responses below:

1) I do not have the option to choose Rosetta on my Mac for some reason.
2) No I cannot hear the menu sounds but I can hear the music and commentary in game.
3) No everything else loaded perfectly.

A few things to note though as I have been trying to test it:

a) The game works fine after I reinstall it and play the base (unmodded) version.
b) I have tried different version of the mods from XKT and the same issue occurs.
c) the game and sound worked perfect fine WITH the mod prior to the update.

I think the issue has something to do with the new update and the mod.

0) I forgot. For possible future use : you'll find "Send Bug Report" in Settings -> Controls -> Shortcuts, around the middle of the 2nd page ; click on "Scroll Lock", and then press the key you want to use instead

1) Could you look a bit more into that ? If it works with Rosetta, it means I could just target the Intel64 on MacOS and then it'd work like in the previous version

a) b) This is the loading of the Modded sounds that fail and apparently nothing else ; I'm not sure of the cause, though

c) This is because I just updated to a new version of Unity (the engine I'm using) that allows targeting the Apple M1 CPU in addition to the Intel64 CPU ; before, on your Mac, Rosetta was used to launching TE4 and virtualize an Intel64 CPU.

Update : I just tested on my old Mac, and like on yours, the original sounds work, but not the Modded ones.

This is relatively good news, coz it means I can test things and look for a solution way more easily like this.

I'll upload an update as soon as I'll have fixed that, hopefully today or maybe tomorrow, if there's not too much crazy stuff involved...

0) I have actioned this and sent you the bug report. Please let me know if you have not received it.
1) I tried but I do not have the Rosetta option on my Mac. Sorry Manutoo - I have tried and that option does not exist on my Mac for the game.

i'm following this thread as well. i have the same problem, posted it in the wrong forum. i too have a MAC (Intel Processor Chip).

Sorry, I should have told you in my previous message that I didn't need you to test with Rosetta anymore as it was not linked to that because it failed on my old Mac as well.

I got your Bug Report so if you have other issues in the future, it'll be easy for you to report them.

The bug is fixed now, thanks to your detailed reports ; you can download the new version !

For the anecdote, the new version of the Unity engine didn't accept Windows-formatted file paths on MacOS anymore, thus the failure of the Modded sound loading.
