Dr.Ivo def. Florian 6-7(4),7-6(4),5-7,6-4,11-9!  :blackeye: :applause:

I have to comment on this epic and shocking match we played yesterday...there was everything, i was sooo lucky at some moments, sorry for that  , but he was lucky at some points too...crazy stuff, i even saved a MP at 5-6 down in the 5th set  I served very good throughout, and volleyed even better, he could rarely pass me, but all the credit to him for some shots, unbelievable :applause: He also played great at the net, i couldnt find many solutions...he didnt play like usually, he was using short crosscourts very rarely in baseline rallies which surprised me in a positive way because i was dealing with him easier from the baseline, and that made me able to break him 3 times  I defended very good all the time and that made him do some uncharacteristic errors
I probably wont remember some things cause the match was really long, but i'll mention the most important :bounce:

1.set...we started solid with our serves i guess, i dont think we had any problems till 3-3 where i somehow broke his serve with a nice return winner passing shot, but i was lucky before in that game...i held for 5-3, he held for 5-4 and then, of course, i lost my serve at the worst moment...he had 2 net cords in that game, he was very lucky to break me...and then we got to the TB where i missed 2 volleys to hand him a 3-0 lead with a double minibreak  at 4-0, i got one of the minibreaks back, but it wasnt enough as he held his serves and made another minibreak at 6-4 with a lob winner :applause: :blackeye:

2.set...i really dont remember if we had break points, there probably were some, but it isnt important...we managed to hold our serves to get to the TB where i got to a convincing lead just like he did in the first set...i think i was leading 3-1,4-2 or something like that, i cant remember...but he got minibreaks back and i was leading 5-4 when i luckily took his serve point, im not sure how, but on a very lucky way, sorry...then at 6-4 i hit a great return on the line and it enabled me to reach the net and seal the set with a volley winner :D

3.set...i probably should have won that set, but i didnt use my chances, and i had them a lot....i had break points in 3 straight games i think, but he somehow saved it, all credit to him :applause: and then he started to hold easier and he managed to make a deciding step on my serve at 6-5 where he played a fantastic game, great shots to break my serve and take the set :applause: my BP conversion was somewhere around 0/5, and his 1/2 or something like that

4.set...i didnt let the 3rd set get to me as i was holding my serve with ease, he did the same at the beginning if i remember correctly...but then, finally, i managed to break his serve at 3-3, i was lucky i guess, but it was time to break him after so many chances, i played some nice rallies and defended solid...i didnt let him break back this time as i served out the set at 5-4 to take us into a decider :applause: :D

5.set...crazy set with a lot of drama, i expected him to miss a bit more, but he played great and didnt let me come close to his serve, well done for that :applause: On the other side, i was playing my serve games with a bigger tension and i was winning them much harder, i had to get out the best of my volleys to compete with him...i dont remember if there were break points before 4-3 scoreline, but at 4-3 he had 15-40 and i though i am done...but somehow i saved it, i was really lucky, i cant believe he didnt pass me there...then there were tense games, but noone could make deciding step...and then, probably the most important game, at 6-5...he got to a match point there, 30-40, but fortunately for me i kept composure and saved it with great volleying  :bounce: Then we held our serves with no big problems all the way until 9-9, i thought we will hold our serves much more longer, but he made some errors and handed me a break point...i was sooo lucky on that one, sorry man...he was at the net, i played a drop shot and got to the net, then he hit a strong shot in my racquet and it got over with a net cord...he hit it back, but then he went back to the baseline where he tried to pass me or lob me, but i was concentrated enough to use that situation and win a point at the net...really sorry man
And then i was fortunate to play fantastic in the last game, i hit some perfect serves and got to a 40-0 lead...he saved first MP, but i used 2nd to win this epic encounter! :applause: :applause:

Unreal score, unbelieveable match, i dont know what to say...im happy i came out on the winning side although i was very lucky...very entertaining, but also very long match, about hour and a half  I found very inpolite that he didnt say a word after the match, he even didnt say good game, but im not surprised, i expected it actually  :jap: GG and GL! :applause:

Funny observation: Voja has won a 6-0 set in every single match in this years AO. Let's see if he can continue the streak in the final.

Dr.Ivo def. Serena Williams 6-7(4),6-4,7-6(3),7-6(2)! :D

I didnt have time to comment this one until now...i really cant believe i'm in SF, i won 3 very close matches along the way   I was very lucky to get through this one, especially not having to play the 5th set...it was very tense till the end, he had his chances, i had my chances...he was winning a lot of points on my serve, but he couldnt reach break points a lot of times, he just came to 30 and then i won next few points...i was very lucky with net cords in some situations, especially in a 4th set TB, sorry for that man  :| I served well, volleyed solid...he was fantastic at some moments, he passed me great...i didnt have many chances on his serve, he didnt miss much, but when he missed, i used it
I dont remember a lot of situations, chances and BP's cause we played 1 and a half day ago, but i'll mention the most important moments :bounce:

1.set...i guess we were holding serve with ease in the 1st set, no many chances, if there were a few i dont remember...anyway, we reached the TB where he was better...he made me one minibreak with fantastic passing shot and that was enough for him, i think he made it at 4-3 :applause:

2.set...i started putting more pressure on his serve and i was winning more points in his service games...he was missing more and he was more nervous when he fell 0-30 behind at 4-4...i used it to break him to 30, i was very lucky, but i think i deserved it and i served out the set with ease :D

3.set...i really dont remember what was happening exactly, but i know he had many chances on my serve...3,4 break points or something like that, i was concentrated enough to save it...i had some small chances too, but he didnt let anything serious happen...we somehow reached the TB where i was completely dominating...i made a minibreak at the beginning and we held our serves until i got to a 5-2 lead...there he missed another ball to hand me another minibreak...he managed to save the first set point, but i used one on my serve to win it 7-3 :D  :blackeye:

4.set...it was the similar story like a 3rd set, he had some chances, but he was unable to take them...he played great on his serve and even when i got to 30, he didnt give me any chance to get a break point, all credit for that :applause: :jap: and again, we got to a TB where i was extremely lucky...i think we held our serves without minibreaks until i got to a 3-2 lead...then i had a net cord which he managed to return, but in the middle of the court and then i sliced the ball and came to the net which made him put his passing shot in the net, sorry for that  and at the next point, i was so lucky again...my return hit the top of the net and just bounced on his side, im very sorry for that man  :? i used that luck to win my 2 serve points to win the TB 7-2!

Great match for me, not very good for him...but i used most of my chances, he didnt use his and that was the crucial thing...i was lucky also, that is one of the main reasons why i won, but it wasnt his day and it was my day, sorry...im happy to be in the SF, i certainly didnt expect it in singles   GG and GL!
