Some of them, like Rafael Nadal's back hand, hits the ball with the middle of the body. Is there a fix to this?

You have to change the real strike span option in tennis.ini from 0 to 1...

I played with both 0 and 1,and the feeling of gameplay is different,but not only with animations.
