CPU performance in tournaments

Postby Anton707 » 28 Oct 2024, 13:14

I absolutely love the game and the only single issue I have is top players not making it far in slams.

I’m in the French open at the moment and the semi finals is hurkasz (12 seed) vs tiafao (14th seed) and me (2nd seed) vs Benjamin (55th seed)

Djokovic, alcaraz, sinner and every other decent player eliminated early on and this is just not realistic for me. Also makes it far too easy to win.

Hello,

in what year are you playing and do you have a Mod ?

Years after 2023 are fictional and thus the players can get strengths & rankings significantly different from real life.

Yeah I’m in year 2023 on XLT mod. Started in year 2020. Hoping that alcaraz and Sinner get better and I can start playing them in later rounds of tournaments more

I also read somewhere about player potential. Considering Sinner has had a great year, would his potential rise in my current playthrough? As in, even if I started this career a while back, would changing his potential now for instance still take effect in an existing playthrough?

You can add RankPerYear to any player you want, for as many years as you want. It won't change his strength for the current year but it should be applied at the end of the current year. (the change is done on the Week 52)

By the way, I want to say how much I love this game. I spent £50 on to tiebreak and it was awful. Read online about tennis elbow. Omg. It’s everything I have ever wanted in a tennis game. The difference in surface. The steady level of difficulty you can control. Everything about it is just amazing. I spent 27.99 on it and i must have already spent over 100 hours playing. To think i spent 50 on tiebreak makes me sick

If you want to Mod the game, you'll need to have access to a PC (Windows, Mac or Linux).

You can grab the Modding SDK here : topic60-33540.php .
Then create your Mod, upload it to https://mod.io/g/tennis-elbow-4 and subscribe to it from the Mod Management menu on your Xbox.

PS: I'm glad you enjoy the game that much ! :)

Anton707,
I just wrote a small tutorial here => topic60-35939.php . (actually, you didn't have to download the SDK if you want to modify the player base from the XKT Mod)

It seems you have created 3 different Mods. If you don't break the saved-game compatibility, you should just update the file of your existing Mod instead of creating a new Mod each time you make a change... :blackeye:

Sorry I wasn’t aware how to update it. It said I couldn’t delete the old zip file whilst it was live.

I ended up unsubscribing to the old mods and subscribing to my latest mod.

I finished the year in my playthrough and in the new year (2024) sinner has improved slightly but alcaraz has gotten worse.

Is there a way to know if my mod has worked?

To update your Mod, click : Admin -> Files -> Add a new file .

To check your Mod is correctly loaded, add this line, under [Player0042] :
Name = Anton's Carlos Alcaraz
(and then delete it and re-update the Mod :P )
Maybe it'll get listed in Settings -> Profile as well, but I'm not sure.

I checked your Mod and you put "-1" & "-1.01" ; it shouldn't have these as "-1" means the player won't play that year. ie: remove all the "-".

Thanks a lot.

So if I change him to Anton’s Carlos alcaraz, his name will change in game? Then I change back?

Regarding the -1 - I saw on XKT mod that one of the seasons in rankperyear for Djokovic was -5 (2015). This was also his best ever year so it seemed to me that if you put a - it makes them even better in that year.

Is this not the case?
