I have been using a PS3 controller on TE4 through reWASD and it had been working fine, then there was a steam update for the game today and the game will now not detect my controller, any help?

When I used to load the game it would automatically detect it and when I mapped the buttons it would show "X" or "O", now it just says button 3 or button 16

do you play with Steam Input on or off ?

If on, Steam should take care of everything and emulate an XBox controller for the game.

Try to reboot your PC (not turn it off & on, really restart) ; if it doesn't help could you send me a Bug Report from Settings -> Controls -> Player 1 -> Controller 1 ..? (HowTo => topic5-31732.php )

I have it on default, when I first ever loaded the game up it detected the controller fine and I was able to map it. Then yesterday it just stopped working.

I tried restarting but no luck, even when I disable steam input it doesn't work properly.

I disabled steam input and it had detected the controller now, but the mapping is way off, thinks the triangle button is a P and it's really hard to set up the controls, have sent two bug reports

Unfortunately, the game supports only 2 sets of icons ; the PS4 controller is still ok enough with the PS5 icon set, though.

You could select the default Tag if it's clearer for you. (it's only a visual help)

So from your Bug Report, when Steam Input is on, there are 0 controllers detected, so I guess you had the "Controller to keyboard" Steam Input profile selected (like you said). Why it'd stop to work is a mystery to me, though...

If you want it back, try to click re-activate Steam Input, then click on Steam Lib -> TE4 -> Controller Layout (it may need a refresh to appear) and then deselect & reselect the correct layout.

With Steam Input off, the game detects & seems to handle correctly your PS3 controller. I'd recommend keeping it, because you can enjoy the analog direction for running.
