I just checked and indeed the section WT_NewGame & WT_NewGameTEM are inverted (ie: WT_NewGame is used for the TEM2 Mode instead of WT_NewGameTEM, and vice versa). It'll be fixed in the next update, but meanwhile, you can add the WT_NewGameTEM section to your .ini and modify the entries you need and it should work.

Useful entry to keep note of, that the above tennis.ini edit instructions will change based on an upcoming tennis.ini file fix....

From what I gather, it seems that in order to modify skills to be 100%, you need to do it through TEM2. Is this correct?

no, if you have the latest version, you use WT_NewGame.

Sorry to resurrect this old thread, I just wanted to know if it's still possible to edit a new player like suggested here. I tried it (I have the XKT mod and editing tennis.ini (which seems active since it saves something in it when I finish playing the game) but nothing changes, I still get the 7 stars for skills and the normal points to distribute between service, forehand and so on.
Thanks for this incredible great game that I found casually trying to find an old tennis game called [censored].

Thank you! I had to modify I think like 3 files until I found the correct one XD
At risk of sounding too picky. I have a couple of questions:
1. how do I get rid of the black square? Do I change back to 0 the developer mode line?
2. Editing to 95 the points in WT_NEW GAME gives everything 100% or whatever metrics, I mean, I'm all for giving myself an advantage (junior ladies are so tough when you start with almost nothing and the ball travels like in slow motion and always misses first service), and since I edited every ini file with the WT_Negame file I can't remember the actual values and I'm afraid to delete current profile and creating a new one without messing anything else. So what would be an ideal value instead of 95 to get at least 70 or 80% in service and forehand strike power?

What it seemed to work for a new game is the following file structure: (asuming we have XKT mod installed)
C:\Users\(name)\AppData\LocalLow\Mana Games\Tennis Elbow 4 > here's a Tennis.ini that don't work when editing it for a new game.
C:\Users\(name)\AppData\LocalLow\Mana Games\Tennis Elbow 4\Profiles > here's an XKT.ini and a (nameofprofile).ini > here I think that the one with the profile name is the one that works.
All 3 files (Tennis, XKT and (name) have the same content where you find WT_NEWGAME and NbStar.

EDIT: after doing some tinkering I found that it's the XKT.ini file that needs editing. Giving 15 points on WT_NEW GAME gets every stat at 30% and 600 points to distribute. I find that a nice starting point for me at least.

1) Yes

2) It also depends on the chosen difficulty level. Try 50 or something else till you get what you want.

3) The different .ini's are for the different profiles. Tennis.ini is for the Default profile.

Hey there. I tried editing those values to 1 in the .ini file to stop skill decay, as I am not really a huge fan of it. However, my skills still decay after a week, and I have to train them up a bit again. Did I do something wrong, or is there another way to stop this?

you likely edited the wrong .ini, but just turn off Skill Decay in your Character Sheet instead.

Is there something i can do on the PS4/PS5 Version of the game?
I also have the Steam Version, but it is more fun to play on the big TV Screen. But there i can not access this files.

I want to have/get more skill points when i do the trainig sessions and don't want to loose points when i miss an training session.
Maybe this is an idea for the future to set this stuff in the options menu !?

a) You didn't have to activate the DevMode in the 1st place, so you can turn it off any time
