Hey Manutoo,

Would it be possible to know what settings to change to modify/tweak some of the experience gains and potential modifiers and what they might do now? It seems the settings have changed from TE13 and from the alpha version of TE4.

it should still be the same as before, since TE2006 : topic1-472.php .

Just check that your Tennis.ini didn't get corrupted ; ie: look if the section isn't there twice instead of only 1 time.

"Pot" are the potentials for TEM2.
"Mul" are the training efficiency for TEM2.

And then change in Menu/ScriptTe/NewGamePlayerTalent.menu the "def NbStar" line.

Manu, a quick question.

I enjoy the idea of losing XP, but when I played TE2013 I thought the XP loss forced me to play doubles too often, and I'm not very fond of doubles matches. What should I do to avoid doubles? I want to still lose some XP, but I'd like singles matches to be enough to reacquire the XP lost. If I divided the drop rate by 2, would it solve this (without giving me an unfair advantage)?

I guess just lowering the dropping rate by 25% should be enough, if not you can tune it some more afterward.

Sorry to resurrect this threat Manutoo, but I've noticed since my player hit age 27 and got the warning that skills will drop quickly I've seen namely Stroke, Service, Volley and the other skills all drop at an alarming rate on average about 20-30% per tournament making it hard to just even maintain anything anymore. Is that right?

I had indeed forgotten to change the old age drop value from TEM2 (it doesn't work the same, so the drop rate was super too strong ).

I fixed that for the next update, but you can do it right now, by changing, this line in your Tennis.ini, under [WT_OldAge], from : (HowTo => topic19-32161.php )
TrainTechnicDrop= 0.50
to :
TrainTechnicDrop= 0.001

I posted below in post in Tennis Elbow 2006, but it really applies to Tennis Elbow 4, so I'm copying it here:

In relation to how to to give your player 100% skills at the start of the World Tour, I'm using the following settings when playing in Master difficulty in Tennis Elbow 4:

- By assigning 95 points above in "PointMaster", it effectively provides my "Master" level player with 100% skill ratings at the start of the tour.
- By changing NbStar from 5 to 11, it allows the 11 eleven talent stars to be assigned to a newly created player in the World Tour instead of the standard 5 stars
- By changing the Dim values to 1, it removes skill degradation over time.

I tried changing all values to 1, but I still need to retrain my player for lost skills each week. Is that correct? My player is just 18.

Following ongoing game updates, the above process to maximise your new World Tour player's talents and skill no longer works when starting a new World Tour. Instead I've found the following process works (as at Nov 2023):

Step 1)
Within the game, go to Settings --> Profile --> Show Data File.
This will open up the ...\appdata\LocalLow\Mana Games\Tennis Elbow 4 Folder
Open Tennis.ini

Step 2) Activate DevMode

DevMode = 1

Step 3) - Maximise your new player's available talent stars (there are currently 19 assignable talent stars assignable)
[WT_NewGame]
NbStar = 20

Step 4) - Assign maximum skill points in all categories for your new player (where 95 provides maximum skill points):

Point1000 = 5
PointClub = 95
PointMaster = 95
PointJunior = 95
PointPro = 95
PointIncredible = 95

Step 5) Disable Skill Decay
Disabling skill decay after each World Tour tournament is now a setting available within the game, thus there is no need to edit the Tennis.ini file to stop skill decay anymore.

Using above, your new World Tour player will have all available talent stars and 100% skill ratings for all categories.

Unfortunately, this workaround isn't working for me. I don't own TEM2, so I still edit the WT_NewGame part. But no matter whether dev mode is on or whether I'm editing tennis ini or the profile ini, I can't get the skills to start at 100%
