It would be great to have weather impacting physics if controlled and perhaps tied down to difficulty in terms of realism? Harder difficulties = historically accurate impacting weather like we've had at this year's RG?
And to confirm, the stuttering has disappeared from the recent update which is great.
I've noticed I've hit a bug with the recent update unfortunately and have updated the thread where 3d matches are not starting properly in World Tour now

1. Even though the game shows 60fps almost all the time on the screen, the flow of the game isn't smooth like before the engine switch. If I turn off the vsync, framerate goes up to 135fps but it's somehow worse to play the game.
2. Between each point there's a very noticeable and annoying stutter. The framerate goes down to 20-35 fps. This gets very annoying specially when the points are short, it becomes a stuttering mess.
4. I can't play the game with my controller anymore. I only play these games with an Xbox One controller and it works perfectly fine with TE 2013. But now I can barely control my player's movement. It feels like my player is skating on ice. Even after using a utility to change my controller's deadzone, it didn't fixed this issue for me.

0) I know that change could likely lead to some issues for some users, but it was inevitable for many reasons
1) Try to play in DirectX 9 mode, to do so create a shortcut and add this parameter : <PathToTheGame>\Tennis Elbow Manager 2.exe -force-d3d9
2) You can play with the Video -> Advanced -> 2D Background to avoid this stutter ; but are you playing with the latest version ? I did a fix for that in the SubBuild 2019.6.10 .
3) It likely doesn't have any influence, and if it does it might come from an issue from your monitor or GPU drivers not reported the current frequency correctly, or from an Unity engine bug that is out of my reach
4) I tried my XBox 360 & one controllers and they both feel more or less like in TE2013 ; check for JoyDeadZone under [Controller] in your Tennis.ini if you want to fiddle with it.
Possibly, you can try to map your controller to the keyboard with Joy2Key, or with the Steam Controller configuration offered by Steam when playing with the Steam version (by requesting your free Steam key if you have bought the game).

1) It's likely the optimization I did.
The little hiccup at the start of a new point will stay, as many things need to be reset & recalculated at that time.
2) what's wrong with the 2D mode ?
It looks like this :
3) The shadows for the crowd raises a lot the rendering needs, so it's normal you feel the hit. Stadium shadow is less costly but still it takes some noticeably more resources to render.
4) Yes, clay is more slippery than other surfaces ; it's same than in TE2013 but maybe it's more noticeable because players accelerate more slowly
