Unfortunately, the problem with the joypad is still happening. Maybe it's a problem with just my joypad.

Hello,

I just double-checked I didn't do a mistake, and for once, I didn't..! :P

So, could you check that joystick doesn't need any special configuration, then open the "Tennis.ini" and change this line, under [Controller], from :
JoyDeadZone = 0.25
to :
JoyDeadZone = 0.50
and if still not good, then :
JoyDeadZone = 0.75
and then :
JoyDeadZone = 0.95
...?

If it works, thanks to let me know the lowest value that worked...

Hello,

new version :
www.managames.com/download.php?TE2006-Mac_eff.zip
(all links always go to the last version)

Once again, a try to remove the freezes & random crashes...
So here the steps to test :
1) download, install, launch and play
2) if it freezes / crashes, then relaunch the game
3) if it freezes / crashes again, then open the "Tennis.ini" file, and change these 2 lines, under [Menu], from :
MacLang = 1
MacHelp = 1
to :
MacLang = 0
MacHelp = 0
and then relaunch the game...

Thanks to let me know if you get freezes or not, and on what step.
If you're hurry, you can skip the first 2 steps.

I tried each setting as suggested, but it still does the same thing. The joypad (Logitech Precision) is a very standard joypad similar to the original PlayStation pad - it shouldn't need any special configuration, and it should work as well on a Mac as on a PC. However, I know that this same thing happens with a couple of EA games on the PC (NHL 2006 is one of them).

Hello punkskaphil,

Your pad is this one, right :
http://ec1.images-amazon.com/images/I/4 ... AA280_.jpg
..?
It looks quite similar to mine :
http://ec1.images-amazon.com/images/I/4 ... AA280_.jpg
which is working well with a Deadzone of 0.10 .

Are you sure you actually launched the latest version of TE2006 Mac ..?

Could you try your joypad with TeMac :
www.managames.com/download.php?Te2004-Mac_ef06.zip
..?

And did you try it with another games on Mac OSX ?

Yes, that's the correct joypad in that first photo.

The 2004 game doesn't recognise it either, and yes, I have downloaded the latest version of 2006 from this thread. The joypad works perfectly with the Windows version of the game.

I don't actually have any other OSX games - I've always used our family Windows PC for gaming - but I have got a system preference tool called USB Overdrive, and that fully recognises my joypad and all its functions.

That's okay - I'll keep playing the Windows version! I might get a new joypad soon though, maybe that'll work. Thanks for trying though!
