Tennis Elbow 2006 on Mac OSX - Beta tests

Postby manutoo » 18 Jul 2007, 14:35

Hello,

here the 1st beta version of Tennis Elbow 2006 for Mac OS X !
www.managames.com/download.php?TE2006-Mac_efa.zip

It supports only Intel CPU, no PPC right now, but I'm going to work on that now..! ;)

Thanks to report me any bug you may found.
I'd especially like to know if it's working on Mac OSX 10.2 and 10.3 .

If you already own TE2006 for PC, then you can use your "Key.txt" file with the Mac version.

If you bought TeMac, you'll receive a key for TE2006-Mac in a couple of weeks.

The beta for TEM-Mac is also available, more info in this topic :

Hello,

The new Beta compatible with PowerPC CPUs is here :
www.managames.com/download.php?TE2006-Mac_efb.zip

The saved games should be compatible between Intel & PPC CPUs on Mac OSX, but unfortunately they are not compatible between the Mac and the Windows version.

Thanks!!! It's much appreciated since I got enough of playing the previous version.

However, it doesn't work for me. I got a PowerPC G4, OSX 10.4.10 and when I start the game, it shows me 2 dialogs:

1st: "Unknown Code!!!"

2nd (right after the 1st): "Bug #531"

Then it shows a blank screen and plays sounds of hitting the ball. I'm much looking forward for the fixed version ;)

Hello Tom,

when did you download the game ?
I just updated it yesterday... Hopefully it corrected the trouble (I think in the previous version I forgot to put the good permission access to the files)

If you downloaded it before yesterday, could you try to download it again and tell me if it's working or not ?

If you downloaded it yesterday or today, could you send me the "System.log" file from the game directory ? (open it, copy and paste it in this topic, or here : https://www.managames.com/mail_en )

ok got your system.log ..!

I found the trouble and corrected it, but now, another tester reported me a crash on loading... :?
It happens in the OpenGL subsystem, so I'm not sure what's the reason.

Could you try the latest version and tell me if it's working or not on your Mac :
www.managames.com/download.php?TE2006-Mac_efc.zip
..?

Thank you! I can open it now, but it crashed when I tried to switch to full screen mode. The TE icon then didn't disappear from the dock and the system got slown down terribly (however I somehow managed to force quit in the end). If I find more errors, I'm gonna report them.

Everything was OK on the 2nd try, I played 3 games and quit, but can I switch off the arrows showing where the ball will drop?

BTW thanks for including the hard court, I was already sick of clay :D I'm gonna buy this as soon as the official version is released (and I get myself a credit card, LOL)

OK, few more bugs that I discovered:

1. After one match is played, the next match usually freezes within first couple of points.

2. At deuce, it says advantage service and advantage return instead of player 1 / 2. That might be on purpose but it sounds weird :D Also some sounds like "2nd service" or "deuce" are shortened

As to freezing at the beginning of the match, it mostly happens when I am serving first.

Hello,

new test version :
www.managames.com/download.php?TE2006-Mac_efd.zip

now, you should be able to switch to full screen (the bug was coz of 16-bit display, I think).

>> can I switch off the arrows showing where the ball will drop?

yes, turn off the preview in your "Character Sheet".

>> advantage service and advantage return

it's wanted... :)

>> freezes

I tested with CPU vs CPU match, it worked fine, so I'm not sure what's going on... If you have any more hint, thanks to let me know.
And if it freezes again, quit (or force quit) the game then send me your "System.log"...

It should be done within a few hours...

After loading and reaching the first menu screen, it behaves as though I am holding a direction key or direction button down - with the highlight constantly scrolling through the options. A couple of times I have managed to start without this happening, but only if I disconnect my joypad first. If I plug the joypad back in and then try to configure it in the controls window, each button I select comes up with "Unknown Code". The joypad (Logitech Precision) should be fully Mac-compatible.

I'm using an Intel iMac with OSX 10.4.10

Hello,

new version :
www.managames.com/download.php?TE2006-Mac_efe.zip

@punkskaphil:
I corrected the always moving Joystick.
I'm not sure about the "Unknown Code", so thanks to let me know if it still happens or not (and if it's for all buttons or just a few).

@jansip:
What is your OSX version ? PPC or Intel ?
Can you download the latest version and try again ?
If it's still the same, could you send me your "system.log" file (from the game directory) and your "console.log" file (from your log directory) ..?
After, you could edit the "Tennis.ini" file, and change this line, under [Menu], from :
CheckNewVersion = 1
to :
CheckNewVersion = 0

@Everybody with freezes:
I'm still not sure where the freezes are coming from. I followed a lead and tried something, so thanks to let me know if the freezes are still there or not...
