I am playing this game for 7 years now. I want to know one thing - I am always playing as a host. Always same game preferences. But agains some players aiming is slow. Against others for example I only press arrow button for a little and the ball is going out wide whereas vs some players I can hold for 5x times more and it's still in. So what's the deal here?
I guess you press left/right and then release before hitting the ball, which is not the recommended way to do as the result then becomes dependant on the Delay.
So you should learn to aim in a way that you have to never release left/right before you have hit the ball. Your aiming will also become much more accurate by doing so.
