Unique nicknames?

Postby MBM » 31 Oct 2013, 16:12

From the abusive player thread:

Guest wrote:My Nickname: Francesca Schiavone

Abuser's Nickname: SAMI... around 23:20 Portugal time. he insulted me and my family cause i bet him 6-.0. vey rude and bad behaved

seb wrote:My Nickname : seb

abuser's nickname : Francesca Schiavone (ELO > 3000)

Cause i get her serve & she has difficulty to beat me, she begans to have bad behaviour on my faults & finally served on the corner. After her victory, she insulted me ...

how is it possible that somebody has the same nickname as me (Francesca Schiavone)? I've had people telling me I acted like an ass the last time we played even though I have never played a game in bad spirits. I thought nicknames had to be unique? Now people don't wanna play me because they think I'm someone else

Hello,

if you have the full version, no one else can use your nickname, but they maybe used a close one.

Not agree with that Manu,if players payed for the game and HAVE a unique nickname that's fine.

But every single player here can change there name every single time and every match...and if you have problems playing against someone and you won't play them in the future anymore=>you have no control about that because the changing of nickname.

And I think I have a point when I say that it's no advantage if you a registered(full version) player when you have a unique nickname.

I think it's very important for players if they can see who is who and not that guy from a match before that was rude or insulting, and finally give you again and again and again a bad reputation for nothing!

Manu, very simple to fix this...

I agree 100%, would be really good for the game if everyone could login everytime and then be able to play online

hmmm I thought this but the guy writing his own nickname wrote exactly "Francesca Schiavone" which is character-for-character the same nickname as mine. No extra spaces etc

Mmm, had to check this again and I typed a nickname from a registered player in my account for gameplay and well Manu it really takes it,I can play with every name in my account!

Maybe only registered players can do that but that's not right I think! It's also not honest vs unregistered players...

Sometimes you have problems with some players but if they play and insulting you and give you a bad reputation...playing next match against the same player WHO CHANGED HIS NICKNAME and give you another bad reputation and again and again, well here is a gameplay issue and then is the reputation score 'thing' not useful.

I dropped from 100% to 56% just playing nice and clear...and if you get a 'bad reputation' sometimes it goes down with 7%. And it's not that high if you get a 'good reputation' score.

Even Manu if you play let's say for about 5 or 6 days not any match =>>>>>>>>>your reputation score drops!!!!!!!

But I still think it's a good thing that reputation button but it's not 100% in some points worked out...

And if EVERY player have a unique nickname then all the problems are gone and only playing with trusted players.

MBM,
his exact nick was "Francesca Schiavones" with a final "s".

Toyo,
1- you can ban people for the session so he won't annoy you again till you restart the game
2- 99% of online games without persistent world allow to change your nickname anytime
3- you still can refer to your opponent's reputation / played games / quit ratio to get an idea if he's the same person or not
