Surface overexposed during matches

Postby Its_Rafa » 28 Apr 2026, 02:26

Hi, Manutoo.

Do you know what might be causing this kind of overexposure when I play some matches on clay courts? It happens at specific times, around 13:00 or so. It is much more noticeable during matches, as it seems that nearby objects reflecting the sun, such as the umpire chair, may be causing overexposure in that area, if that makes sense.

Here's an example comparing training mode and match mode with the same stadium and the same time:

Is there any value I could add to SurfaceMaterials that might help in this case?
Code: Select all
[Values]
_BumpScale = 0.8

_FlipMirrorU= 1
_GlossMapScale= 0
_Glossiness= 0
_Metallic= 0
_OcclusionStrength= 1

_ScaleU = 0.088
_ScaleV = 0.085
_OffsetU = 0.5

Hello,

it's not the same hour : the shadows are longer on the 2nd screenshot.

Or is it played in the World Tour ? In such a case, the sun is positioned according to the city's location on Earth and the day of the year.

Oops, sorry. I forgot to mention that it was in World Tour. I didn’t realize it worked differently in WT. So, does that mean the only solution is to set the match to use the default time in World Tour?

The shadows are only slightly different, so I didn’t think they would cause such a big difference in the exposure. I tried every different daytime setting in Training Mode, and they all look good. None of them had that overexposed or overly reflective effect that happens in some World Tour matches.

Maybe in the screenshot it doesn’t seem like that much of an issue, but when it happens, it’s really difficult to see the ball.

That slight difference seems to be enough to bring a lot of reflection (as seen in your screenshot), which is enough to modify the exposure balance significantly.

And yes, your only solution is to use the default time.
