Hello, I think it would add a lot of realism to allow the player to hit the ball before bouncing even if the ball is gonna be out.

Hello,

this would require adding a button to cancel striking the ball when the user reckons the ball will be out, thus complicating the gameplay.

I think it would work better if the automatic strike were not a thing, but as you mentioned in a Steam topic, it would be really complicated to make it work smoothly with everything else.

Also, the safe strike is really helpful, especially as a last resort to reach balls that are far away. However, I am curious why the player still performs a swing even when the ball is clearly out of reach or has already hit the net and the point is over.

It does not disrupt gameplay, but it does look a bit silly. Would it be too difficult to adjust this so the player does not swing in those situations where he's really far or the point is already over? I actually enjoy seeing my player accept a great shot and just watch the ball when it is clearly out of reach, rather than swinging at the air.

That might just be me being picky, as it is more of a polishing detail. I am just curious whether it would be possible to fix it in a future update. :jap:

1) The player strike animation starts when he won't be far from the ball if he runs to it, but if you don't run (or start to run late), you'll end up being quite far from the ball ; seeing the strike animation will let you know you could have been quite close to the ball or even hit it.

2) If the strike animation started before the ball hits the net, then it cannot be stopped.

Hmm, so that’s the game’s way of telling me I didn’t put in much effort and could have reached it. Damn :shock: :newb: :mrgreen:

Yeah, it makes sense. It’s definitely better than just abruptly stopping the animation.
