Storing modded files

Postby holt77 » 30 Jun 2025, 01:08

Hi,

I'm now using the Windows version of the game. The modding guide says to go to the Profiles page in the game, click "Show Data Folder", then create your own Mod within the Mods folder, by transferring files across from the Modding SDK and editing them. However, I find it easier to just keep my modded files elsewhere and directly install them via Mod.io. If I need to, I can access them from within the game by clicking "Show ModIO Folder", rather than "Show Data Folder". Is there any advantage in storing the files in the game's actual Mods folder, or is it just personal preference?

Hello,

if you activate the "Delete All Mods" button, this will delete your mod.io folder, but not your Mods folder.
Moreover, once you start to have users for your Mod, you might prefer not to push an update just for testing new stuff.
Except that, it's about the same.
