so i created the mod file, the tornament si written like this:

Where did you put that file exactly ?

Be sure to have .ini and not .ini.txt (by default, Windows hides the extension).

ok, i found the problem, i didn't create the Ini folder where to put the mod inside, i did create two ini files, the first One was the Tour.Atp_Mod file where i created the type of tournament, the second one was the TourCategory.Atp_Mod where i created a new category of tournament to have the presence of the top players without the round type of tournament.
It worked on a new save but it makes non valid the old saves.
Did i do something wrong? Or if i modify the tour category you need a new save?

No, it's normal, if you change the tournaments for the current years or the previous ones, you have to start a new career. However, if you really want to keep your current save, you can add only tournaments in the future ; to do so, check "Different Tournaments each year" here : topic11-31376.php .

Okay so if i want to start the tournament in the season 2027 and have it every season i have to write in the ini file YearPeriod = 2027- right?

doing some work to update the tournament database with the recent changes adding and removing some tournaments, changing weeks of tournaments and draws etc to naturally match the transition from 2023-2026 schedules. If I am adding new tournaments that are 250+ in points, do I need to add them and shift the numbers of challengers, futures and Junior tournaments down? I.e. add the new 250's and 500's to the Tour ini above the 'challenger' breaker in the ini file? Alternatively, is it easier to add all new tournaments regardless of level as new ones (i.e. tournament0471 for the Dallas change from 250 to 500?

Essentially, I want to confirm if a new tournament record is needed for each of the following changes for a tournament in the tour.ini file:


- Name (not in brackets but name that shows up in HUD from ini file)
- Tournament Category (shifting from 250 to 500 and so on)
- Tournament Week (shfiting from February to July like Los Cabos 250)
- Tournament Location (Marseille 250 changing to Lyon location in addition to date, Antwerp shifting to Brussels etc)
- Tournament Length/Draw Size (Masters shifting to be two week events vs one week)

Separately, what can be done to ensure that top players don't play in challengers, is it just expanding the database of players?

1) If you want to make any changes to a tournament from one year to the other, your only solution is indeed to create a new tournament in the Tour.ini

2) In TourCategor.ini , there's "BestPlayer = 130" for the Challengers so in normal conditions, the best-ranked player will be #130. If there are not enough players in the draw, then the engine will look up to the BestPlayer / 2 = #65 in this case.

Thank you, Manu! Last Question I have is if I am adding a new tournament, do they need to be added to the relevant 'section' or to the end of the 'Tour_ATP' ini file? Looking to add the new Masters formats and 500's to the calendar as I outlined above but want to be sure I don't screw with the structure of the tournaments based on how they're partitioned?

I.e. do I need to add the new version of the Mitel Los Cabos tournament in this slot in the ini?

The only pro to adding at the end of the file (except being easy) is that if you add a tournament for the next years and not the current or past one, your saved career will still be compatible.

If you don't need that, I'd recommend keeping the current file structure, as it's usually easier to look for tournaments of the same levels and the same week when tuning the player usage.

I think it makes sense to not invalidate any existing saves but I assume if I did add them to the bottom of the ini would I have to stay within the total WT Static amount of listed tournaments to not invalidate existing saves then? If so, its worth it to me to build the tournament ini anew so wanted to clarify if expanding the total number of tournaments available in the ini file would similarly invalidate saves? My plan is to add these new tournaments as starting in 2026 so I can start a career in 2023 and naturally progress to the modern schedule as intended IRL

There's no [WT_Static] MaxTournament in TE4. The XKT used an old version of the .ini . You can ignore it.

Got it, so just add the new tournaments if they changed week of the calendar or level (ATP 250 to ATP500) at the end of the ini file used by XKT to ensure nobody loses any active saves, and I can disregard this line in the XKT ini because it is outdated and no longer capped?
