Data updates when using XKT [.ini vs _Mod.ini ?]

Hi,

I'm using XKT (which is great!), but I'm about to start creating my own further mod which will make large-scale data updates mainly to the Tour.ATP and Players.ATP ini files.

Is it fine to edit or partly rewrite the actual Tour.ATP and Players.ATP files and put those in my mod, rather than creating .Mod versions of those files?

And if I do that, will it automatically continue to read the data from my own versions of those files, even when future versions of XKT are released? One of my aims here is maintain stability in my own game when future versions of XKT are released.

Are there likely to be any issues with this?

Hello,

if you want your game to slightly modify existing .ini files, then you should use _Mod.ini files .

There your goal is to be independent of the XKT's .ini files, so you should create your own .ini, not use _Mod.ini, and thus XKT's .ini's will be totally ignored by the game and XKT's updates won't influence your Mod for the .ini's.

I forgot one important thing : if you use your own Players.ATP.ini, the XKT's Players.ATP_Mod.ini will still Mod it. So you'll need to do your own _Mod.ini on top of your .ini to counter that effect, which might be cumbersome... :sweat:

Hi, thanks for the further information. That should be fine, as I think XKT's Players.ATP_Mod.ini seems to be all outfit data, which I'm fine with, as I won't be making any further edits to outfits at this stage. I don't think it's possible to make outfit edits on the PS5 version anyway, as I can't find a way to generate the required codes?

Maybe it's possible for you to copy the Outfit code in the Customize screen and then paste it somewhere else on your PS5 (eg: email or messenger) to send it to your PC.

Yes it's possible that's what i did to create my mod: you copy the Outfit code then you have to paste it and send it to a chat of an another account PS5(make sure that the account is not used becase the other person will receive a lot of random texts) Then you open the ps5 app on your phone and you go to the chat where you sended the OutfitCode now you can paste it and copy it on the email that you will send to yourself adn now finally you have the code on your PC.
I know it's a long and boring process but it's the only one that i know and it works

Thanks very much for the tip! I will definitely try editing some outfits at some point, once I'm finished with my data edits.
