Plus with this old method, you can change only a very few things. With the new method, you can have completely different tournaments at any time.

Hello Manu, I have a couple more questions.

I finished editing my Tour.WTA.ini file, everything seems to be working fine at first glance, but there are some errors in Player.log and I couldn't figure them out.

1) Failed Assert: Too many high rank tournaments for the Pro Tour => Small tournaments won't give (enough) points

This error appears multiple times. I have no idea why. I thought it could be due to a lack of smaller tournaments, but this doesn't make sense, because I just added a bunch of ITF tournaments (an average of 4 per week). I even tried to add XKT list of ITF tournaments at the end of my file to see if by increasing the number of smaller tournaments the errors would disappear, but it didn't happen.

So I started thinking whether it could be a bug. So that you know what I did, I've created a file with all WTA tournaments from 2011 to 2022. I'm using the YearPeriod, so we only have the usual number of main tournaments per year. Could it be that the engine is ignoring the YearPeriod when checking this assertion?

2) Is there any way to have variable number of Country Cup rounds per year? I'm guessing not, but I wanted to confirm it. Fed Cup used to have 3 rounds, but Billie Jean King Cup only have 2. So I'm using 3 for now (I invented a new round for BJK Cup in Week 5), but I'd prefer removing this round from 2022 onward if possible.

1) I just checked and it's not depending on the Year Period. It depends on ForcedRank : each tournament having it to 1 will need to be counted toward the rankings, played or not. So I guess you have too many ForcedRank during some years.

2) No, it must be constant (the game warns you otherwise).

About the error: I did some testing, I checked every year from 2011 to 2022 and they all seemed correct regarding the number of tournaments. The only categories with ForcedRank set to 1 are Grand Slams and WTA1000. So I thought the issue could be related to 2020 (the pandemic year). I extended every 2019 tournament to 2020, but the error persisted on the log. Then I thought of extending tournaments to years before 2011 and after 2022, but this didn't help either.

I'll try to go on with the career, if I notice anything else I'll report here.

Hello, Manu!

I'm in the middle of my 2022 career (around April) and now I'm trying to add tournaments for 2023. I ran into something that I'd like to confirm with you if it's the intended behavior.

Do I always have to put the new tournaments at the very end of the file? When I tried to add 2 new tournaments in the middle of it (I'm trying to keep the file organized by week), my save file was marked invalid. I tried to leave just one of the tournaments, tried to put them in later weeks, tried to remove family name... nothing worked. It only worked when I added them at the end of the file, tipped by a comment I read in this thread. However, if I add 2023 to the YearPeriod of a preexistent tournament (no matter where it is defined in the file), it works too.

Is that how it was supposed to be?
