Hi everyone, I've been playing the game for a while and I was wondering if there could be a way to make the matches shorter. I love the career mode but the first matches (mainly qualif. rounds) are pretty boring, at least at the beginning (don't get me started on the junior part of the career), 20-30 or more minutes for a match in the early stages of the game isn't really that fun and you don't progress during the first year very fast. It's, if I'm not mistaken, 4 matches to qualify and then 5 to win it, that makes it 9 matches to win the tournament, which is 9 times 3 180 mins, 3 hours to win it. Thing is, minor tournaments are not that interesting and you've got to play during the first stages to advance in the rankig a healthy number of them. Chance is, by the time you reach interesting tournaments and start to get better, you've played maybe 6 or 7 of them. I know that for someone this might be heresy, but I think this way it's easier to enjoy the game and play for more time a career or even complete a full one.

I've been trying to look up ways on how to mod the gamefiles in order to insert something that could help me get this result but so far I had no luck (I've never modded a game before so that might be another problem but I don't care, I like this game and it'd be fun learning something new in the process).
My desired result would be something like the possibility to choose before playing the game between different win conditions under the match lenght section of the menu (so in addition to 1, 3 or 5 sets to win match you also have the possibility to choose from idk Tie Break to win, best of 3, 5 or 7 games).

What files should I look for and what should I modify?

Hello,

just change the number of games per set in Settings -> World Tour ; you can also set "Games in the last set to trigger the tie-break" to 0, it might work for the 1st set to start right away with a tie-break. (change all that before starting a match)

side note : it's 3 matches to qualify.

Hi! Is there an easy way of doing it only for doubles?

I saw in another post to add something like tiedoubles = 2 to every category, but even after doing it (and having a "last set: 0 games, 10-points tiebreak" showing) the match still goes on to games until 2-2, when the tie-break kicks off.

I understand that I could set the "games in the last set to trigger a tie-break" to 0, but then I would have to alternate this selection for singles/doubles matches, right?

no, there's no way to do ; you'll have to manually change it before each match.

I have my mod configured to play Sets that end at 2 games.
Basically, both players get one serving game; if both players hold serve then it's off to a tie-break.

I also vary the length of the the tie break depending on the tournament - if it's a low level event, it's first to 5. Pro Events - first to 7 and Slams/Masters it's 10.
