TE 2013 serving

Postby tennisfan3344 » 22 Apr 2020, 18:34

Hello

I run the game modded with maxous patch and have turned off skill diminish, can playing multiple weeks in a row effect 1st serve fault percentage? Might be me getting it wrong but I feel like even without skill diminish if I play multiple weeks in a row my player is more likely to miss a 1st serve regardless of how accurate I am with the serve?

Hello,

no, there's nothing like that.

But serve chances are random-based, so for one set, if your service skills give you an average of 70% chance, then you may end between ~60 & ~80% of 1st serve in (assuming you do 0 mistakes on the left/right aiming). (and over 100 sets, it'll be very close to 70%)

I play TE2013 all the time and also have skill diminishment off, and I can hit 70-75% of my first serve on a normal day, up around 80- 85% on good days, about 60 - 65% on bad. And if you ask any professional tennis player, they'd snap your hand off for those percentages.
The only thing that I've noticed is that I can serve amazing in one hard-court tournament, then not-so-great in another, but that's more down to surfaces, the guy I'm facing, and my own errors. I still average 10+ aces a game on bad days, but I normally average closer to 20 when I'm 'on'.

When you are playing online, it also depends on if lag is present. It's more likely to miss a first serve if the connection is bad.

The random chance isn't changed online, but aiming left/right can be indeed harder when lag occurs as it'll affect your timing.

I didnt want to create a new thread because "serving" is also the general topic I have a question about.

Is it the same for you that the AI hits incredible return winners but you cannot? Even guessing the right corner and hitting a big attack return mostly leads to a simple block-winner from the AI.
Unless they dont move forward to the net I think I never hit any return winner.

Also with aces. AI use to hit more aces than I do.

I play on incredible 1-3 and mostly with modded games (maxou or recently with itst 1.20).
Shouldnt have too much effect I think.
Well I am still able to win the matches but it just looks not realistic when I check the statistics and see Federer hitting less aces.

But maybe Im just not good server and returner :-D

ElNino,
if you play against the Incredible level, the CPU gets a bonus on his skills.

You can do returns like the CPU, except on last instant returns, you won't be able to aim very far left/right. The CPU doesn't have this limitation.

For aces, it works the same for the CPU & human players.
