LAGtastic

Dear Manu,

Is there a way for you to improve the lag or does it solely depend on the connection between the two people playing? I'm getting increasingly frustrated by these lag issues and they're killing the fun associated with TE. In particular, several people in Europe can't connect, or have laggy connections, not to mention the lag when playing with overseas people. Is there any solution to this? Please let me know.

Merci beaucoup,

Stan.

P.S. I also cannot connect through Hamachi with Lucky Rooky, Serena Williamz (Temes) and Zeka (JJ) for an unknown reason, so we can't play at all. WHY? :(
The TE's all-round and doubles GOAT
73 titles (7 S + 66 D) + Davis Cup + Team Cup
11 Grand Slam titles in doubles (out of 12 played)
Best singles ranking #3
Best doubles ranking #1
Olympics 2012 - singles bronze, doubles gold

Stajus, TE2009 uses a very low bandwidth (about 700 bytes / second in upload), so that induces a very minimal latency on a classic adsl line (512k in download / 128k in upload).
The lag comes from what's happening on ur PC & ur opponent's PC (downloads & anything that uses bandwidth, and possibly also anti-virus analyzing network packet) and from the distance between u & ur opponent... So there's pretty nothing I can do there...

I agree (lag is bad). Game continues to disappoint for online play. I'm about done with it, except for offline play (World Tour, etc.). I don't have the patience any more to have to hold down controls for a long time hoping the player will move, only to have it suddenly move more quickly and cause an error. I just played someone with about a 92 ms ping, which is about the best I see (certainly good enough for the network packet demands of this little game), and the off-and-on normal movement (very slow movement when it mattered for me), is intolerable. It's not my PC, it's not my network, it's not my internet connection.

Oh, and people continue to make videos laughing about using their lag switches (not that anyone here would do something like that   ):
me and my lag switch its fun
