the XBox 360 controller is a popular choice, if you don't mind assigning 1 button per strike.

Me, I'm using this one : https://www.amazon.com/ThrustMaster-296 ... +3+Gamepad ; I got it at $10 in a French supermarket, a couple of years ago.
