I'm not sure if it matters or not, but if you have the "full" version of TE 09 there are 3 serving styles you can choose from:
1) Federer (which IS the "old" style, or, I should say the FIRST one that Manu put in TE 2009)
2) Sampras
3) Nadal
I don't know if the "demo" version has these options...

CC, I think you got a bit mixed up on your explanation, coz basically, summarized it'd give : you want the game to be more realistic so u'll be sure to lose against people who cheat... ':D

>> My point is that shots that are maybe realistic in that that could happen are taken out because you think they are too hard

I never removed any shot coz it was too hard. Only coz it was unrealistic (and often leaded to an abuse coz too easy).

>> the accerlated slice is there

It's not really there anymore now...

And yup, TE's goal is to be Fun & Realistic, not Realistic & Fun... ;)

Other People, if I don't answer your question, read the "Important Note" in the 1st post of this topic, and u'll know why...

Hi,
Just joined the forum and have a quick question. I’ve noticed from the forum discussion that there are 3 serve types to choose from when creating a player. I am currently playing the world tour against the cpu and in the character sheet however, I do not see any option to modify my serve type – ie: Sampras, Nadal, Federer. I believe I am running the most current version of Tennis Elbow as I just checked in the credits and it indicated the following build: Tennis Elbow 2009 1.0c Build 36-2009.9.3. Can you direct me on how to adjust the serve type for my player or explain why I can’t see this feature?

Thank you very much.

you cannot change the serve type after you have created a player. or, you can, but you'd have to edit some files (search trhrough the forum for this). the serve type and strike types, are in the section where you change your player's outfit, racket type etc... but it can only be accessed on first creation of the player...

I would like to once again complain about the topspin...I have used about 30 topspin for a while now with defender mode and I find it too easy to defend, even against the most powerful hitters. Indoor carpet is the only surface so far that I had some trouble defending really well on but it still was too good imo. Courts like blue green have endless rallies with very rare baseline winners and indoor carpet has more of those mainly because you can get control with serve.
The problem why topspin is too good is that you can hit almost always great deep topspin shots even when running from one side to another if you move in a certain way. That way of moving is to wait in a crosscourt position always when possible. This way you get crosscourt shots back easily, but somehow even if you run a long distance for a down the line shot, you are able to hit it with good spin and great depth. I noticed a lot of good players move this way.
I really would like to see a greater depth handicap for topspin when running, because right now it is too easy to hit deep. The rallies on fast courts are somehow again really long and clay courtish(if topspin is involved) and hard shots don't have enough impact. I can record some matches to demonstrate this as well.

Edit: I want to clarify that I'm talking about high level TE, of course it isn't "easy" to defend but when players are really good it is and this clay court effect happens.

we should have the option to play as we wish, and what he means is that maybe the only option to be really good at the game is to be a defender with insane top spin
I used to think that way, but now I don't really care about it, I like playing as a hard hitter, and if a defender beats me...well, nevermind, I don't want to play that way just because I'd have a little plus

It's just that if you move in the right pattern you are able to hit almost all spin shots deep. Even if running a lot. Some matches I don't see a single short defensive topspin shot. It's that bad. Other than that the spin is fine. I just think if I paint the lines and make my opponent run they should show some sign of struggle, otherwise it feels very pointless to even be an offensive player.

I could be wrong but I noticed that ALWAYS in World Tour I'm who serve at the first game, I'll check it well during this week. Could it be more random, Manu?

And also, do you know when will the next update be released?
