Any way to disable bouncing the ball before serve?

Postby nathanw » 25 Jun 2009, 05:34

I saw some people comment on this in previous posts, but didn't see any update. Is there any way to disable the AI players' bouncing the ball before the serve. It's really boring waiting and I don't need the time to prepare my positioning or anything. Some people may want it, so if it's just a toggle in the options that would meet the needs of everybody. And if it's not possible now, is there a way I could make a mod that does this if I learned the mod software?

Thanks!

Hello,

in the "Tennis.ini" file, change this line, under [Game], from :
MinAiServiceTime= 1.5
to :
MinAiServiceTime= 0

It'll help a bit to reduce the serve time, but not much...

U can't do more by urself, but for next update, there won't be more than 1 bounce when you set MinAiServiceTime to 0.

This is only somewhat related to the topic, but I saw once yesterday or the day before when playing online where my opponent was bouncing the ball prior to serve, and the ball vanished after several cycles of the bouncing such that only the hand moved , but there was no ball; then, the ball reappeared, and he bounced some more (it took him a long time to serve).

Awesome! Thanks! I was so bored with it, I started playing in windowed mode while watching wimbledon on espn360 in another window during the ball bounces.... thanks for the tip on how to do this, even a little faster is something. Nathan
