I am a slow learner ..... I recently downloaded and paid for TE 1.0. I downloaded TE 1.0b today ...... but it says to get the full version I need to pay. Could you just reassure me what I should do. It says about tranfering the profile folder. Will this remedy the problem..

Many thanks

Sneaker, the "Profiles" folder is only for your Saved Games. But you can also manually copy your "Key.txt" file to your new installation directory, this should do the trick.
Else, you can also follow the instructions to install your license key from the license key email (ie: launch the game one, then download & launch the Key Register).

zaphod, likely never, except if someone ports the DirectPlay library by Direct-X to Mac OSX... (as stated in the previous ChangeLog)

Given that it's Microsoft, and they have no reason to port it to Macs (and reasons not to), you are probably right. Was it just because it was easy to implement that you chose to use it (given that you have a cross-platform product)? Why not use a cross-platform networking system?

Wine has ported a part of DirectPlay to Linux, so it's not totally impossible to see it coming on MacOSX one day...
I did the Online mode for TE2006 before I did any port to Mac OSX. For TE2009, I looked for a free high level network library, but I didn't find any. I surely don't want to spend weeks to code mine, and I don't want either to disturb the Windows Online mode by changing of library ; this could lead to months of instability (network bugs are the hardest to find)...

ManuTOO,

I don't have a Macintosh computer, but I noticed TE2009 listed on the Apple.com site under games available for this platform. Congratulations! That should help the game become more popular, and maybe some people will purchase it for that platform. People don't know what they are missing.

CC, they sure don't know... :P
About Apple.com, it's easy to get listed there as long as you have a decent game...
