i'm not comfortable with the new build
i agree with everybody that this build changed the whole feeling on the game, is too sensitive to gave direction, i mean...if i hit the right arrow key to give that direction, i don't have to keep it pressed nor even 0.01 sec and it will go to the line(exaggerating... maybe not too much exaggeration )
as tog said, the balls that weren't going on the, now are on the line, and the balls that were on the line now are really, really out, and the time margin between a on the line- shot and a out-shot is almost nothing
I'm quite disappointed with this build, i thought this would've mean just a change on lob using, but not a whole new game
just for example(i don't know if this are the real times )
if to do a shot on the line(being on the center of the court) you've got to aim for 1 second, now you have to aim for 0.3 second and, it would be a good mid-term something like 0.7

by the way, the new thing on the chat is really nice

The one thing I really like about the new sensitivity on shots is now it's easier to aim returns away from the middle of the court. That was the biggest weakness of TE, IMO, and it's been fixed.

I like the changes, but I think most the kids that play a ton and got really really good, won't. :p

ok, I did 3 more sets with different lags (although 2 weren't till the end), and I checked : the timing for the service is identical whatever the lag is, exactly like I was aiming to. The timing for ground strokes & volleys are alright as well, the antilag works like a charm, now I can play well even with big lag...
The only real problem is when u prepare ur strike too early, and stop to push left or right before hitting the ball. In such case, the ball will go too much to the left or right, compared to when u play offline. I think it's a fair trade off compared to the advantage of having a stable timing when u prepare in the correct time, whatever the lag is.

For all people having trouble with timing, u should play against the CPU to learn again the timing when there's no lag...

In 1 week, everybody will be used with the new timing, and it'll be fine...

The new build is not right (at least it doesn't seem that way to me right now). Before, I really didn't notice a difference between offline play and online play, except for the desynchronization errors. Now, it is very much different. For example, when playing online, now if I press the right arrow just a bit (or first serve), the ball hits to the right of the service line. It is far too sensitive. Also, if I press button 1, up arrow, and then press button 1 down arrow and serve, the ball has a huge arc -- goes high, comes down and bounces, and then goes very high in a curve to the side. There was some of this effect before, but it was not this extreme. I'm not sure why changes like this were made, as there didn't seem to be that much of an issue with online vs. offline play, to me. Attached is a recording of the match I referred to. Notice my serves after the second game (when it is 0-2). These were my first matches with the new build, and I was just playing around.

It has been like this on clay since the rebound change, button 2 + down arrow is pretty same just slower and curves more.

Well I've only played a couple matches with new build, and I'm not sure what to make of it, if I like it or hate it(more the latter I think), but it's very strange that I can say. I don't think it works quite as intended, as the online experience with lag is definitely not anywhere near an experience without lag, may I say it is equally painful as before, and just different, not better...So I don't think there was necessarily any improvement done to what was before, only that it requires less time to aim with lag now with more sensitive controls(I guess that's an improvement if you like it, to me it's just learning timing all over again, cuz it's not anything like offline or no lag timing).
I'll post another comment when I have gotten more used to it though.

Except it's _exactly_ the same timing than when playing against the CPU (if u end ur service while still holding down the left or right key)...

It's funny to see how deep in the instinct of most online players the lag has been integrated...

Well, I don't mind the new update. I feel it's more realistic, especially on the return of serve. I still have to get used to it, and there are more errors. But a few things still trouble me. During my last match, I served 2 double faults using the "safe" serve that it supposed to 100% go in. It was on break point...yeah. Not great timing for an issue that shouldn't have happened. So that needs to be resolved. Also, almost everytime Imy opponent hit a drop shot and i got up to it to hit a safe strike, my ball went way out. I know this has to do with timing but I should be able to at least dink the ball back onto the other side, in the court. That happened multiple times throughout. But the groundies are good. It forces players to be even more careful about timing and precision. Just address the other issues that I mentioned and it's a solid update .

Ok, I just started playing with the new version too. So far, I don't think there is any big problems, except now that it's difficult to lob during rallies. So, I don't really know whether to like or dislike this new version. I'll play a few more, if there is any prob, I'll let you know.

I agree concerning the "safe" serve. It seems about as sensitive as hitting an accelerated serve now. Should be easier to get in play.

Otherwise, I love it. There's much more skill and strategy involved now, instead of being able to drill the corners with accelerated shots every time once you figured out the range.

Ok, so I just played against Max Botti, the game's only serve-volleyer that I know of. I realized that his style of gameplay is going to die out with this new update because people can pass him much easier now. I also figured out that my style of play will be better with this build, but I don't like why. Before I could rally with a power baseliner for awhile, but I was on the defensive and they would often finish points off with winners. Or if I was able to defend well enough to get back to a neutral position, I would have to work to hit a winner of my own. Now I can get to every ball and I know that, with the greater amounts of errors, I will the point more often than not. In summary, TE is becoming more of a defender's game once again. It might be in my favor, but I still don't like it. I think that power-baseliners should be in the majority, as they were before this new update and as they are in real life.

I don't know what to say. Anyway you can be here in front of my computer and then you would believe me? Anyway, the serve online / offline is not the same for me, and it is not something in my head or whatever.
