Lob is too fast...even b2 lob

Postby omgpopfan2011 » 28 Sep 2014, 15:44

Manutoo, the lobs are really abused by many players. when i am at net and i see my opponent lob and its impossible to get them if it lands down. before in tennis elbow i can reach even after ball landed and play a safe shot in middle but now its impossible to reach it if u miss the ball at net  i mean why cant i catch it? ok i missed it at net because i came too close but it is not the case..... i have bad smash at net, my opponent keeps on lobbing infinitely because my smash power is less..........after few lobs he plays one strong shot and then lobs again and i miss it because these lobs are unreachable if i miss them at net...please change this abuse lob????????????????????????????.....he is just abusing the lob....i feel like i can send them back into the court by safe shot but i just cant get it moving backwards....

actually you can never lob a top guy. They smash everything back with b2 at least. That's why most of the top guys on tour are volleyers. If you don't trust me, you can watch a dmo between two top 10 players, one with 100% lob and another rushing to net a lot, you will see that the one with the insane volleying skill wins the match due to the game setting.

I agree with MarkChan. It's almost impossible to lop top players even with 50% lob or more. You can succeed to pass few lobs only if you are well placed with enough time to prepare perfectly

To catch most of lobs :
- size of player > 1.70/80 (easier, i have tested it)
- run backward 0.5/1.0m behind the serve line

yes but if my smash power is less......thats what i am talking about....lobbers just abuse playing lobs all the time when i come to net because of my poor smash skills but i have no more points left....its insane to see these lobs all the time....the point is i cant reach the ball if i miss it at net....the ball moves too fast after it lands....and i can never catch it if it lands on ground no matter how fast i run....previously in this game i used to catch them and i play safe shot and then i play a baseline battle but this is no case.....

Silly Tene (omgpopfan )...increase your smash then. Some well executed lob combinations are effective even vs the best net players, that's normal. Otherwise it would be unrealistic. And if you catch it by safe shot while running back you will be bashed into oblivion and lose the point anyway in most cases (unless you're a lucky guesser).

What Mark Chan said is nonsense...go rush net and smash vs Voja/Nadalesque/Sheraz/Kuga and see what happens...Rookie comments

Only someone with 3 months of TE can write something as stupid as this... :aureola:

If you're perfect at baseline with reflexes of the Gods and some lob stats you can beat anyone. If you're perfect at net with 100 smash you still won't be able to beat everyone. S&V and pure rushing doesn't really work on Tour with elite controls (not really with simulation either but better), so if you're not good enough at baseline with crazy reflexes you can rush net all you want and it won't be enough. Sooner or later you get exposed unless your baseliner opponent with lob is completely brainless. I'll give you one thing though, there are a lot of brainless people on this Tour (you would know )...but try these strategies with true top baseliners and enjoy getting spanked.
The TE's all-round and doubles GOAT
73 titles (7 S + 66 D) + Davis Cup + Team Cup
11 Grand Slam titles in doubles (out of 12 played)
Best singles ranking #3
Best doubles ranking #1
Olympics 2012 - singles bronze, doubles gold
