French Open mandatory, but how do I enter?

Postby CC » 07 Jan 2009, 05:40

I am playing World Tour. I selected a cement-court tournament in India, Singles Draw, India F1 as my next tournament. When I did so and was to select either Singles or Doubles, a message appeared stating that because of my ranking, it was mandatory that I play Singles in the French Open or not play at all. I was presented with the option to select either Singles, Doubles, or both, and I assumed that this was for the French Open, since it was given as mandatory. When the match started, though, it was the cement match of India F1. I noticed after this match that the French Open is being played on the same day. Why didn't I play the French Open instead of the India F1? Did I do something wrong? I guess that I will continue playing India F1 until Sunday, if I make it that far. I don't understand why I was apparently given the "option" of joining the French Open, but went on to play India F1.

Thanks!

RG is 1 week after India F1.
What u see are the Qualies for RG.
What is mandatory is to enter the main draw of the most important tournaments when your ranking allow u to do what without going through the Qualies.
So on next week, u'll be in RG.

Thank you. Also, thank you for kindly not making fun of my tennis ignorance, although I know that it must be amusing.

I think that a lot of my questions have to do with my ignorance of tennis. I'm glad to know that I will participate in RG.

Seriously, how is that tennis ignorance? No one knows which week India F1 is. Except maybe Chiller
