Hello,

here you can see I need to practice my volleys to beat a power baseliner CPU on Pro difficulty level :

Manutoo, you should play online. :) It's so much more fun.

Algo, there's a built-in system to do video in the game, but it's really not convenient to use, coz must record sound apart and it saves frame by frame...
You can also use Fraps (but it seems the sound gets out of sync with it), or Taksi but I think it doesn't support sound recording.

Togtdyalttai, unfortunately, my connection doesn't allow me to play online... :( (and on my short free time, I like to do something that changes my mind from work anyway... ;) )

I think I played Manu online 4 times today, but I thought it was an impostor. He was the same player as in this video. I would have stopped to chat, and not been so ruthless with my ugly bashing game.

You're better with the volleys now, too.

yup, it was me and unfortunately you're not the only one to shamelessly bash me...
Now, I have big problem to position myself correctly when the lag is a bit high, thus I do too much bad accelerations... :fear:
Hopefully, I'll get better soon & will at last kick some asses..!

Manu, how does it feel to have so many players better than you, at a game you created?

Nadal's probably better than the person who created tennis....
Most of the players who "whup up" on Manu most likely have "played" the game a lot more...besides, most of these players probably can't come close to beating Manu in the "game" of creating a killer computer tennis game...which is likely where he spends most of HIS time... 8-)

I agree with you there. Maybe if Manu spent more time playing his game he could get good enough to beat S.Williamz! :P

Callan09, as btaylor pointed out, I feel it's quite normal many players are better than me at TE2009... :)
It shows that it's not all about knowing the game & its tricks, but it's about reflexes, strategy & mental, like on a real court, and I lack skills in all 3 so despite what Togtdyalttai said, I guess I could never compete either with him or S.Williamz...
But with a lot more training, I'd likely get a level of ~2100 ELO, and maybe even 2400 if I could learn to adapt my game depending of my opponent, and vary more to surprise him more... (right now, I'm at 1900  but it's only coz I can kick ass of 1500-ELO players  )

Also, playing against the CPU is so different from playing online that you learn many bad habits (returning, waiting for errors, relying on angles, hitting short balls is useless). You can only learn by playing other people.

I think ManuTOO would get quite good over time. He already has volleying skills up there with Max Botti's. With an improved defensive game, he'd be adaptable and tough to beat.

If I can easily get over 2400, ManuTOO could get near 3000. :) It gets a lot tougher once you get over like 2200, though. Bageling the hapless sub-1600s doesn't give you many, if any points.

Leena, I think we should do 1 or 2 last sets before my holidays will be over, and after u'll have kicked my ass, u may change ur opinion about my 3000-ELO potential... :P

Manu, I'd like to play you before your holidays are over also. Hopefully you'll come on MSN this weekend.

Heh.

I'm the furthest thing from a gamer. The extent of my gaming skill is playing turn-based RPGs from the SNES era. :P My reflexes are poor, and Tog can tell you how I hit maybe every 1 out of 10 shots on the "sweet spot", if I'm lucky. You could do better. Believe. :)
