Im curious of 2 things is the camera angles remaining the same, can they be lowered and movable toward the net on net play or thats a whole new engine?

Hello,

it is imaginable to have a zoom when going to the net, but it might need some fine tuning to work with lobs (probably need quick unzoom in this case).
I'll try to do some tests about that when I'll have time...

About the outdoor courts, I'm not sure what u mean, but I guess it's the answer u want : no, it won't be possible to see the sky, it'll be same courts than in TE2006.

To add, I think it would be cool to have something the same as the split screen view, but have it take up the entire screen (without the split). Dunno if this would require 3d courts or not...

Regarding courts

Postby solarisaint » 01 Oct 2008, 08:32

Will it be possible to import our own background art.
Not to sound problematic, I just think with these ball mechanics this game has the potenial to be the greatest pc tennis ever :D

Regards to zoom cam

What I mean by zoom is the frame moves forward closer when volleying. When i played the old topspin1 you were able to get a closer vision of the net and more people enjoyed volleying as opposed to volleying from a baseline view. Lots of players dont realize that. Now in topspin 2 they took that away and less people started to volley and now you have topspin 3 same thing vision from the baseline and nobody goes to the net and its just a power match. In smash court court tennis 3 they have it in the game but they took it away from the online mode, what are they thinking. All I know is Im pumped about TE2009 :) also if we came down on the camera view a little, we would be blown away at the top spin effect you created

Brad1981, yup, it'll need 3D courts.

solarisaint,
- yes, you can change the court art if you want, in the same way than for TE2006

- I just updated the game & put a camera mode including zoom when u go to the net, let me know what u think about it, and don't forget to tell the whole word that TE2009 is the best tennis game ever..! :P
