Speed of CPU in latest test version

Manutoo, whatever you did in your tweaking of the CPU, most notably on level 2, seems a bit unrealistic now. I know there are subscribers that want more pace, more pace, more pace, ad nauseum. As Brad noted about the the mtrun code, there is virtually NO WAY to keep up with the CPU without it at the higher levels now. Even WITH it you almost have no chance the way the CPU tracks down shots and fires them back at vicious angles. B1+B2 hardly seem to do any damage at all in groudstrokes or serves. I hit several serves at 140+ and had them terrorized back at me!! When you are hitting accelerated groundstrokes from sideline to sideline to sideline to sideline, then up and back and they are tracked down with no sweat, that's not tennis... that's something else. :( In real tennis some of these serves/strokes will get a weak pop-up or sitter. It seems you are equating PL1's sideways speed as being somewhat faster than a human's while the CPU moves at mach 1 speed! Has level 2 been changed to incredible?! In my opinion you shouldn't have to use a cheat code to realistically compete with the game. I had been playing on level 2 but I guess I'll have to go back down a level to enjoy the game at a more realistic pace. Right now it's almost like professional table tennis :? I guess I'm more concerned with the realism of the players' characteristics/techniques than pure speed (and you've been doing superb in that regard!), but I guess you have to appeal to those who want laser tennis 8-) Hopefully, since this is still a test version the CPU can still be toned down a tad for a more realistic flow to the game.

I'm playing against the highest lvl CPU and don't find it in any way impossible.

Edit: Nevermind. lol

I also wanted more pace in shots, which I am happy to see was implemented. But, I am glad somebody agrees with me about having to use the cheat code to keep up at the higher levels. Because it is IMPOSSIBLE to do so at normal speed
I like level 2, but with the latest update, the computer makes errors on EVERY point! I hope this is fixed. Actually I see a bit of difference between level 2 and 3. I feel there should be another level in between like 2.5 lol.

I agree with the CPU hitting shots that are somewhat unrealistic...there isn't much effect if you hit an accurate acceleration to your opponent, near the lines, in real life the opponent would hit a softer defensive shot in most cases back since your shot was so difficult, but instead now often hits a perfect shot that in many cases you can't reach.
So the problem for me is, no matter how good shots you hit, the CPU can always hit a perfect shot back at you...

I just feel the dynamincs in rallies are still rather unrealistic, however the pace is good, imo that is not the problem here.

Several things :

1- the CPU and human controlled players use the same rules to run & accelerate.
Level 3, 4 & 5 have a small handicap, Level 0 (Incredible) has a small bonus, and Level 1 & 2 have exactly the same limit (according to the Speed & Tonicity skills).
Although, there's 1 thing the CPU can do and u cannot : accelerate in any direction. You, you can only accelerate in 8 direction : up, left, down, right & the 4 diagonals.

2- If the CPU is too strong for u, then use a lower difficulty level. Use the "LevelFraction" skill to set it precisely.

3- When u do several left/right accelerations, your opponent will very likely strike shorter shots ; then, u _HAVE_ to go inside the court to hit a winning acceleration, either using the regular one or the short one.
It's not needed all the time, but it often very really ease the process of kill ur opponent ;)

4- When u do left/right accelerations, if you do them far enough of your opponent, u greatly improve the chances to see a weaker reply or a fault.
