marko279,
where it happens? Online ? in World Tour ?
It could be a Modding gone wrong...

I tested the new version ... and personally I dont like the configuration of the "slice" shot .. which is very similar to "strike normal" ... I think the same about the "top spin" shot ...

Does anyone ah been the same?

Don't know why but I feel with the new version that the CPU is weaker than before. In particular I feel that he hits too often to the center of the court from a good attacking position. I played also at the incredible level and it's the same more or less. Gameplaywise, it's less entertaining than before

Lucian86,
nothing changed for the CPU per se, except it's also a bit slower for him to step back (same than human players). For easy balls, it shouldn't have any difference, though.

Anyone else noticed this issue ..?

I also noticed this, especially with approach shots, making passing shots way too easy.

I re-checked the changelog and actually, nothing really changed about being lobbed at net in v1.0c ... Could it be because you swapped from Fair to Realistic mode meanwhile ?

well manutoo, i actually tested the player moving backward. He is slower than in previous version. So that's the difference which made me struggle to catch lobs at the net. I know u made this update to reduce circles effect. Well, I think the update makes sense for BASELINE(NOT NET) game because moving backward-slowness effect was quite good at baseline BUT at net this should not apply. IF THE PLAYER IS IN BETTER POSITION AT THE NET, then in real tennis the volleyer will punish any lob with an easy slam-dunk smash  Here to smash the lob the relative gain in height at the net is actually very less. We all know that there is no slam-dunk shot in this game, otherwise we could hit those lobs. But now i see i had to take risk coming to net even if i am in good position. If there is no slam-dunk shot may be u should increase the players backward speed AT THE NET! ':D Those accelerating lobs are so vicious and if i go too close to net, i have no chance to catch them :x My opponent plays a stupid defensive game where he just plays lobs and if he sees me coming to net after i short-smash the lob he plays a short acceleration or a fast lob. That's really tough for volleyers. Because i should be very close to reach a short acceleration and my opponent lobs if i go too close and if i stand mid-way he hits a short acceleration. I mean seriously that's quite annoying  It's really making me frustrated because he has no game than playing lobs and short acceleration

what happens if you do a short acceleration smash on a lob from baseline while your opponent is running to the net ? I buffed it a few months ago, and if you have time to position yourself it might be quite efficient in that case...

I tried this too...didn't work  see my above message too, i mentioned my problem ':D

Lucian86 or/and Bata,
if you play with an unmodded game, could you send me a .dmo telling me the score where it happened ? I'll check the CPU decision process on these shots.

n 201,
being stuck to the net is slightly OP as the net coverage there is very good, so I don't mind that the risk of being lobbed make you think twice before sticking to the net. Although, maybe slightly buffing the smash could make things more fair. What % of smash & net presence are you playing with ?

well i have 100 net presence and 59 smash and i use volleyer style but seems tough to do the smash because backward movement at net is really slow :(

n 201,
in real life, players volley most of time from just a bit inside the service line, they're not stuck to the net. Try to step just a bit, you won't open the court too much & you should be able to catch the lobs.
I put a poll about that there => topic8-16527.php ... ;)

well manutoo what u said is true about volleyers in real life. well i don't get stuck to net but this feeling of my opponent going for short accelerations makes me feel uncomfortable because fast lobs and short accelerations are a deadly combination. if i want to hit a volley of a short acceleration i shud go close net and then i dont have enough time to move back if my opponent lobs again. its like teasing my net skills by constant lobbing and short acceleration. only if i had more back speed at the net i would have hit them with a powerful smash. now i can bearly pull off a smash of the racquet because even when i reach the lob moving back, the smash is normally a powerless on(or a smash lob lol) and has no effect on my opponent
