Hey,

I *always* struggle against quick players with high levels on counter - how do you beat them?! They're also very safe so it's not like they hit loads of errors. Only tactic which I've sort of found working is approaching the net a lot (but to do this you need to slice before approaching the net as otherwise you won't get up there before they blast it by you).

When I play Paire, for example, I *never* stand a chance and lose in straight sets. How should I approach these matches?! I play on Pro/10 if that's of importance.

Also, a side question: if you have high skill level on top spin, does it affect *every* shot you make (unless you slice it) or just when you deliberately decide to do a top spin one?

I can post my players' skill levels when I get home in 2-3 hours if that's necessary.

Slow rally w/ slices or short / topspin strikes and wait for appropriate moment. Netplay should also work ...

Slicing is key. It takes away their power. It's especially helpful on return of serve to get the point to neutral immediately. Deep heavy topspin should work but doesn't so even if you're playing with a power topspin guy like Nadal, you're going to have to slice far more than is realistic. Follow up the slices with short angle shots. If they get to the short angle, you can either go hard to the open court or if there doesn't seem to be enough you can space slice again and follow that with another short angle. Repeat as necessary.
